I'm thinking about applying for the ProStaff. What are the "day-to-day" demands put on ProStaffers? (If you'd rather PM replies, I'm okay with that, too) THANKS!

QK,
IMO.....the day-to-day demands may be a tough question to answer. Day to day I go to work and spend time at home. However, here is a little background about Avery and what they are looking for:
When Avery® began it’s Pro-Staff it consisted of approximately twenty-five members; mostly friends of Avery who believed in the products at a time when we only made a few. Today that number is closer to one hundred and seventy-five and while our numbers have grown, our primary mission has changed little: support the sales efforts of our network of authorized dealers.
Now, while the “glamour” of working in the outdoors-industry might entice some to apply, I would encourage them to look past their perceived concept of the job and study the realities that I can share with you. There is no doubt that working in the hunting industry can be and is a lot of fun. But if your sole reason for getting involved with us is so you can hunt more, than I suggest you not apply. There is more to belonging to the Pro-Staff than just hunting and we take our individual and collective responsibilities to our dealers, the company, and to the Pro-Staff team quite seriously.
Being a member of our Pro-Staff means that you will be actively engaged as a member of a team: a team that is dedicated to providing a high level of customer service in a professional and friendly manner. It will involve a lot of hard work, be it working in-store promotions, presenting seminars, unloading containers, etc. The program has undergone some extensive changes since its inception four years ago. Aside from our growth, the scope of our duties has increased as the Pro-Staff looks for new ways to offer help and support: not only to our extensive network of authorized dealers, but our company and our industry as a whole.
Being a part of this special team is hard work and will require a commitment of time and energy that many cannot make. Avery® welcomes anyone who feels they have the time and energy to commit to the Pro-Staff program, but we want to stress up front that ours is a team approach so you must be a team player or you will not fit into the group. If you can meet these simple requirements and feel that you can play a part on the Avery® Pro-Staff, then we welcome your application.
With that said we volunteer our time at shows (DU banquets, Cabelas, Sportsmans Warehouse, ect.), take product photos, demo new products and submit feedback to Avery and those involved on the project team. It is exciting and informative. Avery is also looking for upstanding individuals who play an active role in their community, work groups and social groups. It is also important to utilize promote the Avery/GHG products. If you are interested feel free to submit an application. The applications are located under the "Avery ProStaff Opportunities" Link on the MB.
Any other PS want to add anything?

Quivira I answered a similar question in this forum back on January 9th. Go back and take a look- you will see that Josh and I have the same sentiments. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

How old do you need to be to apply for the Pro-Staff, compared to a YFS. Does Avery hire Pro-Staff if there is one close by, like Barthel is about 30 miles south of me. I was just wondering if it was worth applying or not.

CluckmeMN,
You must be at least 18 years of age to be on the Avery ProStaff. As far as where you live, that is all determined by the need for that specific flyway. If MN needs more guys to effectively cover their area in terms of shows, unloading shipments at dealers and working other events then Rob will usually post where there is a specific need. It doesnt hurt to apply. There are several PS members that live near each other. Its all based on needs.
Hope this helps.
