View Full Version : Ground Force doors binding

I am wondering if anyone else is finding that the doors on their GF binds when trying to open or close the blind doors. It appears that the frame (tubing) is rubbing on the hinged part. This is happening on the frame towards my feet not the hinged parts near my head. Any ideas of what is going on and of you PS's??

You need to make sure that bottom frame is level. I have found that when the frame is not level, the doors will bind.

Also check to make sure the doors have not been overtightened.

I have had some preoblems with the doors binding as well. Most of the time it happened when either the ground was unlevel or the strap was to tight. For the most part I had only a few troubles with it. Now if only CS would get my replacement parts to me I could fix it from my stupidity and get on to killing crows out of it.

Boon,
As was already stated the frame needs to be in the right position and the doors can't be to tight this happened on my ground forces, and my son figured it out.

This is a situation that I have learned to live with. I know it's a pain but you do have to get the blind as level as possible for it to work right. This is not an easy task when hunting in plowed fields that have rows in them or when hunting in corn stubble. Probably not the best engineering feature on the blind but thats my only complaint.

Uggh hey, that was so retarted, my best moment by far. I was so angry when I fell on it. At least the parts didn't cost a fortune to replace.

mine had stuck a little, but I just oiled the door with a little wd-40 and made sure it was put together right and it works great now.

The one complaint I do have about the Ground Force is the material the floor is made out of. I bought my Ground Force right before I went on my spring snow goose trip this March, used it 3 days hard, and it has holes in the floor where the rear bar rests already. This did not just happen to me, but to my friend, who had bought his at the same time and used it the same amount, and to another guy we were hunting with who had large holes in the same place that had bought his from the fall season of 06. Not to much time for that much ware. Now the blind is at a great price and is a great product, but I would much rather pay a little extra for the same frame and layout with a little more durable material.

This is exactly what I did, after adjusting the tension of the door straps all was well again.

I did the same with mine this past season.

There are a couple of different suggestions on here. I would first make sure that the doors are not too tight and then try a few of the suggestions on this thread.

I have found that if that collar on the door frame is not slid on all the way, it causes some play in the door frame and will make it bind.

I tried folding mine up with out the collar slid down and it bent it and would not slide all the way up the next time I set it up.

Might want to check that out too..........

I tried to make it sit as flat as possible on the ground.
I also made sure the doors (straps) were not over tightened.
The odd thing is one time they don't stick at all and then they do stick. if I didn't get in and out or move around maybe it would be more consistent without any sticking. But moving the frame work on the blind when you are getting in and out seems make the frame work change postions and then the doors start sticking again.

I did not try adding any wd 40 to the area that will be my next thing to try. thanks for your suggestions they are greatly appreciated.... Boon

Hey Mark, notice how when you complained about the quality of the blind everyone ignored you?
