Has there been any thought of producing a universal motion base?? I use the stakes already, however, it would be nice to be able to have the option of using my decoys with them on frozen ground or ice, as well as rain soaked ground, when stakes just tip over. To me it would make sense, as the Hotbuys and the Mallard shells are sold with stakes only, and all other decoys are sold with both stakes and bases. ( I find myself using the bases 95% of the time)

I don't know if there has but as most members and visitors to this site know, we appreciate the suggestions and feedback we get here. I am sure this one will be passed along to our product development team.

Thanks!!

Shipping them is a nightmare, but obviously it is something we need to look at.

thanks,

Until we do...Find a welder that works with steel wire. Have him/her make the loops with a female end(tubular) so you can slide the motion stake into it. You will need to cut the stakes as they will be too high off the ground if you don't. Make sure you get the measurement of your stakes right, works in the lawn wont work. Factor in stubble/stalks or wherever you most often use them but not too high off the ground. A little gorilla glue in the female tubular end and you have a permanent stake similar to our round bases for frozen or hard ground. Good luck and thanks for the idea!

So manufacture and ship the ring and the stake as separate pieces with snap-on assembly by the user after it gets to its' destination.

Better yet, manufacture a ring as a standalone piece that a regular motion stake slips into.

Couldn't a ring base be made with a 2"-4" tapered tube to recieve UMS or the motion stakes? It would be less handy than a complete base but would be useful. I don't know what material they could be made out of, the complete bases are super heavy right now. It would have to be tough to keep the tube intact. Just an idea.

Or better yet make a ring you can stick a UMS into. Shipping problem solved.
