any tips on getting the lookers into the 4 slots?
i thought they were made for the decoys to stand upright. either way i turn them, i cannot get them in.
the packaging says huge 11x10x 22 slots....isnt that the size for FB's with motion bases. maybe i bought the wrong bag.
Any help?

Take their foot bases off, and but them in tails first with their heads criss crossing. I'll post up a pic if u want me to.

some prostaffers posted up and said they fit with the bases on.....i just won 2 lookers at a DU banquet giving me a total of 8 so i sold my old 6 slot bag with the 15 x 11 pockets. not really interested in taking the bases off/on each time we set up.
were these bags really made for lookers?

The 4-slot bags were made for all of the full body decoys that we make in four packs. The feet do need be removed from the Lookers. The feet need to be in the lowest position on the Sleepers and Resters.

I would just make sure that you vary the direction that each decoy faces in the bag.

Here is a pic of my ffd's in thier four slot bag with out their bases on. As you can see their heads are crisscrossed. I don't think it's to much extra work in the morning to put on a few bases.

And here is a pic of one of their backs, there is very little were and tear on him.

well it seems to me like the bag is just a smaller version of the 6 slot motion bag? same size slots. guess ill try to return em and get the 6 slot bags with the 15x11 pockets.
i struggle enough getting those bases right....would rather not have to handle 8 decoys twice per day putting bases on and off.
well maybe ill convert them to motion bases...anyone tried that with the looker body yet?

Lookers can be tough to incorporate the RealMotion System. The high head make the balance point pretty fussy.

Putting those bases on when it's 10 degrees outside isn't any fun at all. I have brought this up before but, I think something similar to the retractabase system with a larger base ring would be the ticket on the lookers.

I am still confused about the guys in the post i linked above getting them in with the bases.
wonder why the packaging says the bag is for lookers with the realfeet bases? to me it's still an undersized 6 slot motion bag

They can be fussy, but it can be done. When I get home I'll try to post up some pics of what I did to get the Realmotion system to work on Lookers.

My preference is to leave my lookers assembled and individually bag each decoy. This alllows me to leave the decoy assembled and provide protection.

No problem Rob. And yea I understand the point about how they're a pain to put the bases on when it's 10 degrees outside, and 5'o clock in the morning but I think you gotta do what you gotta do to get them honkers. And to me if that means puting on some bases when it's 10 degrees outside well that's alright with me.

i like being able to stack the bags....the 6 slot motion bags and the FB mallard bags have really organized our trailer and it seems like setup and takedown has got a lot quicker carrying 12 decoys out to a general area and going from there.
I think i am going to have diane at custom decoy bags make me some looker bags. shouldn't be a big deal. maybe avery should check out the 4 slot pkg that says they hold ghg lookers with realfeet bases. still not sure why avery prostaffers were posting up that the decoys fit in the bags with the bases on.

I take off the bases and place them in the bottom of each slot of the bag. Then I slide the decoys in so that the tails set between the top and bottom of the bases. It only takes a couple of minutes to put on or take off the bases.

I have tried to put the motion system on em, but because of the big head, they are front heavy. If you put a small weight in the tail they will work awesome, but this is very tricky

I’ve reconfigured my older Active and Feeder GHG goose decoys with Avery’s RealMotion cones. I did attempt one time to put the Lookers on Universal Motion Stakes, and it did not work very well for me. The Looker’s lean/tilt and do not depict a natural sentinel appearance. My recommendation is to leave the Lookers on the ReelFeet “motionless” foot base that they come with.

Because I have converted many Active and Feeder decoys to the new and improved RealMotion cone system; I now have a lot of the older ReelFeet parts. Therefore, if failure occurs with the ReelFeet foot base I have plenty of A and B parts to revamp my Looker decoys as needed. I’ll bet Avery’s service department can also help with fine tuning any of your older decoys to meet the 2006/2007 decoy assemblies!!

I am attaching an image of a FFD Feeder decoy I upgraded last summer. I used spare ReelFeet parts with a motion cone system upgrade; on an older model FFD goose decoy. This in actuality did not work for me; as there is always stubble and the fields I hunt and the upgraded decoy would not rotate; because the low hanging feet interfere with stubble in a field.

What I’m trying to present is that there are many options and opportunities to upgrade your decoys if you use a little imagination and a hint of ingenuity.

As to the questrion of bagging Lookers; I have always taken the ReelFeet foot base off of my decoys. In my mind there is less chance of damage and it only takes a few seconds to install, even in the dark.

Hope some of the things I post are helpful to some of you!

Good Luck and Happy Hunting!!

I like the way you think. You could just cut the webbed part off of the legs.

Thanks for the post and the suggestions. Hopefully next year we will have the motion bases for lookers.
