Hey fellas, I just ordered a bunch of Avery dog products from Mack's, including the deal with the Training Bag that includes the 3 hexabumbers, ATB, lead, heeling stick, etc. My question is on the heeling stick. Is the heeling stick supposed to be bent around 14" from the tip, or should it be straight? I've never used a heeling stick in my training, and haven't ever laid eyes on one in person. Thanks, Scott

If your heeling stick is bent, you had some problems during shipping. As Christian said, the heeling stick should be straight.

Yeah, it's bent. I think someone over at Mack's tried to make the heeling stick fit in a 2'x3' box. I'll give them a call and get it straightened out. Wow, a pun. They ought to ship that thing in rod tube, like your get when you order a new fishing rod.

By the way, I loved the Fowl Dogs 1 video, and the dog loves the ATB. When my other box from Fed Ex arrives I'll have 5 more ATB's and 2 more six packs of hexa bumpers. I kinda went crazy and ordered 5 bills worth of dog training gear. Any body got a 12shooter bumper boy they want to get rid of?

Thanks fellas, Scott

Thanks for the purchase of some really great products. I am just waiting for our ice to melt so I can use my ATB on the water! Maybe another week or so........

Mack's will hook you up. The Heeling Stick is a great training tool. If you watch Danny Farmer in the Problems and Solutions DVD, he really shows you the correct way to use it. Thanks for you support of the Sporting Dog line. Good luck in your training.

Thanks guys. I got the Farmer video on the Waterdog preorder deal. Just got all of Evan Graham's material too. The combo deal on the Pro Trainers bag had the Fowl Dogs 1 video and I really enjoyed the hold, FF, and collar conditioning sections. I've done some British style training, and some mock hunts, and hunt test scenarios, but never FF a dog. We're gonna work that out soon. Then's its off to swim by, and pattern blinds. My little dog got to pick up around 500 birds last season, but it wasn't alway pretty. We are gonna fix that before next season. Planning on running hunt tests this fall. Really looking forward to that. You HT guys look like your having too much fun!

On the topic of the heeling stick, I talked to the folks at Mack's today and they are sending a new stick out asap. Thanks again, Scott
