Finished work this morning and have the next month off on holiday!

Duck season starts on Saturday and all is looking real good with plenty of ducks about and a good forecast for hunting in the weekend.

I live in the province of Southland which is at the bottom of the south island of NZ and down here Duck hunting is a huge event with about ten thousand hunters going out on opening weekend, when you consider that we have a population of under hundred thousand there is a big % the population hunting for the opener....all that anyone talks about this week is duck hunting!

I have lots of new Avery products that I will get to use for the first time, like my Groundforce blinds and neotubs, GHG rester and sleeper FB mallards and blacks, plus lots of other decoys,bags and dog accesories etc.

Just cannot wait...will hopefully have a pic or two to post on the weekend.

Like you I can't wait until Saturday. Unlike you I only have a week off. But I am away for the whole week and will not be home until the following Sunday beign the 14th. You enjoy posting cause I hope to be back and having my posts up very soon.

Like you also I have a ton of new Avery products. My new sneak boat which I built at Christmas is having its first real turn out on the lake. Scott and myself will be out at the hut with four other hunters for the first week chasing ducks.

I don't know if there is a better feeling than the one that a waterfowl hunter gets about a week before the opener. It is funny to because I get the feeling before the duck season and then it happens all over again right before we are able to get after the geese. Tear 'em up over there.
