hey guys... My friend is haveing some problems deciding on wheter to get the FFD's or the Progrades. I told him to get the progrades, but he likes the fact that the FFD's come with bags. I like the progrades just because i dont like to "baby the decoys". What do you guys think. P.S if i had a trailer i would proly get the FFD's;)

I'd still go with FFD's they will outperform and you'll love the bags for added protection. I have all my pro-grades in slotted bags even because I like my decoys to look like they just came out of the box forever.

FFDs all the way, the pro grades are sweet, but the FFDs are in a whole nother category, flat out awesome!!!!!!!!

FFD's all the way. Either way I would use 6 slot bags, as they are easier to transport that way. But, the FFD's are a better decoy hands down. I would rather have fewer FFD's than more of anything else.

FFD's hands down. The realism is unbelievable. He wont be sorry. The pic below is one reason I like FFD's. You cant beat the FFD's on sunny days.

Another vote for FFD's. I dont always take my trailer if a larger spread isnt needed. I've put a few bags of FFD's in the bed of my truck and there is no difference than being in my trailer. IMO you cant beat the "plastic stuffers"

I would definitely go with the FFD all the way!!! The little extra cost of them is worth it. The Pro-Grade is a great decoy as well but after time and daily use you will be glad you went with the FFD. Plus like Jason's pic displayed so well the FFD really stands out on extra sunny days. As far as wear on them goes, we don't baby our FFD decoys by no means. They get put back in their slotted bags and tossed around the back of the truck or boat day in and day out. They still look great!!! Thanks for choosing GHG!!!

Both would be great addition, and as far as "Baby them" just dont throw them around in an open trailer, they are durable decoys, and look flat out awesome.

I would also agree with going FFD. To me the extra money spent to get the 6-Slot Bags is worth their weight in gold. I feel that you will have a lot more wear and tear on your Pro Grades without the bags then FFD's with bags. The flocking holds up great IMO and I would rather have a flocked decoy with a ton of wear then the same unflocked decoy with a ton of wear. It's just like flocked heads and unflocked heads, from a distance you can't see the wear on the flocking however, the paint will fade from the sunlight and the flocking will end up looking better then the paint on the decoy after years of use.

I personally will only run FFD decoys in my spread. I feel they are the best decoy out there for fooling geese over the entire duration of the season. As far as durability, I think the picture below will attest. As you can see, I don't baby them. I simply treat them just like all the decoys in the past. Most have withstood the daily "pounding" since 2004 and are still very useable. They have scratches and dings in the flocking. But, they still do their job... flawlessly. Ideally, the bags are the way to go for FFD's but this is the best system that I have found for my needs.
At the time this picture was take there was about 30 dozen in my trailer. The only thing I did do was I found some used carpeting and used it too line the inside walls of the trailer.(floor to ceiling) Other then that they are packed as tight and as compact as possible.

I cant really say ones better than the other, but i can say that i got the pro grade lessers and they do fool the geese. Just this morning i got 2 geese to land and walk across the feild and stand next to mine. Im uploading some pics right now and ill make a thread about it in a few minutes.

FFD will outperform other decoys in any situation. Besides, you should always "baby" your decoys to keep them clean and without major scratches.
The bags are the best thing happened to the decoy world for many years. They protect, they ease the storage of the decoy, and they make the setup much easier/faster.
Go and try for yourself, you won't be disappointed

FFD's can make a bad caller look good, and a good caller look great! Had a crew borrow some and they limited out without a caller amongst them.

I plan on buying some FFDs this fall. But I have some other shells that I plan to flock. I was only going to flock the heads with a GHG head flocking kit, but then I found the GHG tan flocking kits for the body. How effective are these? It seems that it would be hard to have realism with this. Wouldn't this just make the bodies look like one color and actually lose realism of feather detail? Here is an eBay listing of the product I am talking about. If it gives the effect though, I will definitely buy both kits and fix up my shells.

I would go with the ffd's. You will be surprised of the durability. I use mine in and out of a trailer most times in a hurry to get set up and they hold up well. The pro-grades are top notch as well but you just cannot beat the ffd's.

I use pro grade in the early season and switch to FFD's about half way through season or when the birds show me they are getting educated. You would be surprised how the FFD's hold up. My vote would be FFD's if i could only have one. I hope your buddy doesn't hunt beside me early in the year with FFD's they are awesome ;)
