How do you guys have your shelves rigged? What do you guys use to keep the dekes on the shelves? We have 6 doz GHGs on shelves in our trailer, we have bungie cords holdin em back, so they dont slide out. We will use a big net to hold em in once we have all our dekes. We will probably be gettin a bigger trailer this summer. We will put shelves in that one too, but new ideas would be great! If you got pics feel free to show your setups.

I had shelves years ago, and had so much trouble with them staying on the shelves when driving through the fields. The dekes look really impressive when you open the doors and see all the decoys lined up, but it not very effective, and very time consuming when walking back and forth carrying a few at a time to set up.
If you have not tried the Avery 6 slot bags, I would highly recomend it. It's so much easier to either drive through the fields dropping bags or even carrying them to the setup location.
As far as pics, type a search for trailers there are plenty of photos of how people organize their trailers.
Good luck, when you get yours completed, post some pictures, we would love to see them.

I removed all my shelving after one season! I hated it! Now that all my FB's are in bags, it's easier and more efficiant to just stack em' in the trailer...

... Although, I just sold my trailer and now I am not sure i should have because I don't think I'll be able to get the one I want this year:( I might be trailer-less this season - uuuuhhhh ooooooo

Here is a thread for shelving ideas... I like the "2-tier" shelving(if you have bags)

I too have tried shelving, as well as, the rod method...I removed both after short periods of time and have been the most satisfied with packing my FB decoys in slotted bags and stacking them.

K.I.S.S. - Keep It Super Simple

Shelving in a trailer does look nice especially with row after row of GHG decoys. Now with that said the reviews that I've heard of guys that installed shelving in their trailers has been the same. "Man, I wish I wouldn't have done this" and then they take them out for the next season. I know what your probably thinking though. This will save me the expense of having to buy the six-slot bags.

Of all the times that I've used the six slot bags I have been sold ever since. The ability to hand a person three bags (or more) per arm out of a trailer that has a lot of decoys is great to see. One guy can haul out three dozen decoys in one trip out to the field. I've been told that guys can haul about ten individual xxxxxxx decoys if a buddy of theirs loads them up and then maybe they could kick two more out to the spread???? You can carry two dozen more decoys out to the field and not drop a single decoy along the way. You do that a couple times in the morning and your spread is completely out of the trailer in a minimal amount of trips and no damage is done to your spread.
I am personally going to stack my decoys in the trailer this year as that is how a lot of guys I know have done it. Also, the decoy bags give you another way to protect your investment in your spread.

However, if you still have your heart set on the racking system do some searches of the regular internet forums and you'll find a lot of information.

Same as Mike B. for me, goose decoys in slotted bags that I stack in the trailer. With the exception that I made a compartment in the nose of the trailer, where I stack some duck decoys (approx. 6 doz. Full Bodies and 3 doz. Floaters), this is an extra rig that I keep in case I find a flooded field holding ducks when I'm on a roadtrip, or simply to bulk up a goose decoy spread ...

Yeah the bags would be super nice i know, but we only have 1 bag now that holds 12 lessers. But we will be runnin 10 doz dekes this fall, thats 20 bags=$850! We are gonna need a new trailer too, plus im buyin a truck. So the bags are on the side burner till I can afford the above items.

Buy the bags. You will regret the shelves 1/2 way through the season.

can you fit 2 hunter series in each of the 6 slots made for the bases on. We took off the bases, and have the motion cones, if we could fit 12 per bag, then I would highly consider it.

I hate to sound like a broken record but I did the pole idea and hated it. Went with bags and love it. I can get more decoys in the trailer and they're protected now. As far as getting 12 Hunter Series in each bag it can be done but you'll be doing alot of un-needed rubbing on the decoys and possibly stretching the bag. I did it with some older feeders I had motion stakes on but it was also the bigger 6 slot bag.

Yeah, the bag i would use is the huge 6 slot bag for dekes with the bases on. So they will fit? I would put them belly to belly, so if the paint does rub off the geese wont know. I will post pics of our trailer, when i have the chance, so you can see what we have.

I guess i will be the different one, i had 10 dz full bodys all in avery bags and i hated it.Way to time consuming esspecially on a 20 below zero day when you just want out of the field Now i just pile them up in the trailer and put a cargo net acroos the back so they cant move around in the trailer seems to work great no shelves and no bags thats the way to go.....Just pile em up!!!

I like Nicks KISS method, shelves are nice if your setting up in a Parking lot, but what was already said in a field, they will be more of a hinderance, plus they take up room, with the New bags we offer that is the way to keep your decoys.
