elevation question

i live up at 5200 feet elevation. i purchased a new box of wigeon today and one of the drakes is so expanded from the elevation that the keel won't stay in. all of my ghg dekes are extra rounded since moving up here from sea level, but this one is really pizzing me off. anyone got a solution for this that's not gonna void my warranty........i was just gonna drill a pin hole and then silicone over it. i know it's only 1 decoy, but i'm retooling my arsenal and need a fix as this won't be the last one i see like this. thanks for any help in advance.

In the back where we seal the decoy, just put a small nail or pin into the hole we made for the mold. Let the air out, and then reseal it with gorilla glue, or silicone. When we have the show in Reno, all of our displays do the same thing. We just open them up at the hole and let the excess air out. No problems. Just goes to show that we air seal our decoys so air won't even come out!!!

I have a friend that lives at high elevation and had the same problem. The decoys looked all bloated. He drilled a very small hole in the back of the neck. Left it open to avoid the bloating everytime he traveled from high to low elevations. Just one of those things. Specter.

But then if you hunt lower elevations spots... you're decoy's are going to implode like the Titanic on it's way to the ocean floor! ;)

I'd drill the hole, but I've been having good luck with JB Kwik (4 minute cure version of JB Weld).

Travis is dead on with his solution. We have faced the same dilemma hunting here in Nevada as our elevation is close to yours. Travis taught me this little trick three years ago and it works with no problems. Please let us know how it works for you.
