Ok folks.....here's your chance to make a difference directly involving the outdoor television shows you love to watch!!

Yesterday, MOR Channel and DISH Network had a financial dispute that resulted in a direct (hopefully temporary) separation between the the two entities. While this Network and Provider arm wrestle over it, we (the DISH subscribers and viewers) get to lose contact with many of the shows we like to watch...such as RNT-V along with many other great shows.

As of last night around midnight, I have been talking my collegues about the details, and so far the only detail that has taken effect to the situation is the fact that tons of calls have been made to DISH with complaints and threats to switch over to another provider...DIRECT TV.

If you are one of those DISH subscribers, like me, do you, me, MOR and all the tv shows and their sponsors a favor...call DISH and make a complaint...LOUDLY. It is being heard and will be affective.

DISH Network is merely a provider of these channels...they could care less about the outdoor industry. They have 200+ other channels that make up their big picture. However, if thousands or better yet, millions of subscribers consider a change (and let them know what will happen) they stand to lose a tremendous amount of money...which is what they do care about. We may bicker and jockey within ourselves about who and what is better, but ultimately we are all one big family...hunters and fishermen!!! If a provider charges more, the network rates increase, then the show sponsorships increase, and guess what...retail prices go up and WE will ultimately pay for this inflation.

Call them! 1-800-333-DISH

Thank you!!!

I suggest you simply cancel your DISH TV subscrition and switch to DIRECT TV. I did last year and do not regret it. ;)

After working 16 hours yesterday, I just wanted to come home and watch TV for a little while but guess what.... No MOR. I wasnt very happy.

Dish received a call from me last night. I was told it might be back in 24-48 hours. I'll give them until Monday, if I dont get to watch RNT-V I'll be switching providers.

YA I called and asked what the %&^$#$^% was up and all they could say was were sorry sir but we don't have a lot of information right know. Asked if they would be replacing it with something else and they did not think so but were unsure. Makes me a little upset since I just suscribed and have a 1 or 1 1/2 year agreement.   I think that is kind of a bad way of doing buisness IMO.

It is important to sustain ALL the programming distributors with all the outdoor televison networks. Its not really a matter of who's better...its a matter of having ALL avenues open to the outdoor world.

Jake,I called them on Saturday and asked them what they were going to do to keep me as a customer because they just got rid of the only channel i watch and that i was going to rip it out and throw in in my yard....his comment was "i don't recommend that sorry and thanks for using Dish" they don't give a crap!
I even told him that they had 24hrs to fix the problem or i was going back to Charter. they could care less !
Good luck

There seems to be some productive activity taking place at DISH Network. Keep the pressure coming til the dust settles...dont let up.

The only good show was RNT-V and it was always re-runs. There was never any duck or goose hunting on it. I am ordering the Outdoor channel so i can watch whistling wings and waterfowler TV

Hey Kile...Thanks for recognizing RNT-V as a good show. To address the reruns, all the shows on outdoor television, regardless of the network (MOR, Outdoor Channel, etc...) have some sort of rerun format to their contracts. Many of the shows have a series of shows that air in 13 week unique (new) episodes followed by 13 weeks of reruns, which equals a 26 show season. The other option is a 52 week season, which falls into quarterly periods like this: 13 weeks of new shows followed by 13 reruns. Then a new set of 13 unique shows air, followed by 13 reruns for a total of 52 weeks. Confusing, I know...however, that is how it falls into place with television contracts.

So, if you want to avoid reruns or you want to catch a rerun in case you missed it, the quarters break down like this: 1st quarter begins in January, 2nd quarter begins in April, 3rd quarter in July, and 4th quarter in October...

I hope this helps...

Jake, thanks for your information! The only reason i said reruns is because they show the same show on sunday as they had on friday, and i DVR the show so it get annoying, but you are right it is a good show. My favorite was when they had the POWER trip.

Jim Ronquest asked me to pass on a few words to help inform us how all of this works. It is important for everyone to understand the system so that we can all conrtibute to the big picture...whether it be a producer, editor, cameraman, or most importantly the viewers.

"Just so everyone knows how it works. In this case, we will use MOR, although it is similar to the Outdoor Channel. Each show is given one Prime time slot and one "also ran" during one broadcast week, a broadcast week runs from Monday to Sunday. This way you maximize the opportunity for folks to catch your show. If you DVR the show just pick one of the air times that way you will not record the same show twice. Keep in mind all of this is at the discretion of the network. For example, they changed the "also ran" time for RNT-V for the third quarter after the ad's were made and sent out. RNT-V wound up with 2 prime slots both on Sunday, so the same show will air twice on the same day. The individual show does not have a great deal of control over when their show airs." -Jimbo
