Demand for these must be really high. Just ordered a dozen from the Mack's webiste and they're already having to backorder them.

I would say it because they're not here yet, But I'm sure the demand is going to be big!

You are right, Dwayne. The decoys won't be in the stores for a while.

Correct...they have not received shipment yet but it's good that you got on the backorder list because by all indications, these things are going to sell like crazy.

Ah, I just ordered another 4 dozen so now I'm up to 5 dozen total. That's about all this young goose hunter can afford to spend. With the shells I already had and the ones I purchased earlier this year, I'm up to 12 dozen dekes. Hope that's enough.

will sportsmans warehouse carry these decoys???

I am sure Belding can tell us if Sportsman's is going to carry them. These new items are not picked up by many retailers. The extra freight charges they incur by them not being done in time to make their initial container order really hurts.

thanks,

Was just on MPW web-site and could not find them list. Any help or a link??
Thanks.

Believe me guys, these 5/8 shells flat out work! The movement and realism is as good as it can get!

edw437, type in the the item number in the box on the very first page of the website. It'll come up with a couple matches and it's the one that deosn't have a pic yet and is $159.99

I have one question. Do they already come with the hole for the motion stakes drilled out or am I gonna have to do that when they get here. I'm gonna have to do that with the shells I already have, and i'm not looking forward to it.

A better question is to ask how easy they are to put a motion stake in durring setup. I can handle a few Pro grade honker shells but to set up a motion stake for 10 dozen would get old fast. They seem awkward.

Mack's is in the process of updating their site with all the new items. Everything should be up real soon. I'll keep you posted...

The way it looks to me is the motion stake is cut in much like the Higdon stackable shells stakes are. If you have put those of the Higdon in you know they are a piece of cake and will cut set-up time in half compared to setting full bodies.

Just ordered 60 DZ.

portahunter,
Thanks for the info. I just have one more question - is the item number in the new catalog? I have not received it yet. Hurry up post office.

Call and talk to customer service. Tell them what you are looking for. That way you are sure to beat all the Magazine sales orders.

they are not awkward at all. speaking from experience setting them up, they are AWESOME to set up and very quick. Push the stake in and set them on top...nothing easier that i have ever seen. I am ordering 30 dozen of them!

IS it the hole setup like the pro grade shells? I like the idea of the deocys and plan to add some but I thought this could be a potential problem. When macks catches up I may have to order a dozen or two and try them out.

Anybody with any experience with these decoys know how easyily and how many of them I'd be able to fit into a 6-slot bag.

here is another picture tony posted earlier in the year. he or tyson can add to this but they were putting 100 or so fullbodies in this bag and he told me they would hold at least 200-250 TnT shells (hopefully tony will confirm this). I know this doesn't answer your question for the 6 slot bag but i would imagine you could probably get 4-5 shells in each slot with the heads removed. I am personally going to use a bag similar to what they used. getting them in and out of a trailer and the decoys just hold up to the aduse so well it's amazing. i hope i helped out to some degree. let me also add by no means am i an expert but what i saw and the efficiency they have going on when they set up the spread is amazing and the way their decoys held up to the every day pounding was remarkable. i guess what i am saying is you don't really need to bag these decoys like you would an ffd.

Well, the reason I asked is so I can keep them organized and optimize the amount of decoys I can take into the field. My problem is gonna be getting dekes into and out of the hunting area since ATV's are not allowed to be used on the properties and WMA's I'm gonna be using them on. This means I'll have to either carry them in or find a way to drag somethign behind a bike for about 1/2 to 1 miles at least into the hunting area.

Weatherby

ahh i understand! if you are going to bike in you better get busy now and get those legs in shape not for just the bike ride but putting stuff out once you get there :)

I hear ya. I'll probably have to make several trips with the sled to get all 11 dozen dekes out into the field. That'll be fun.

portahunter, either you are crazy or one of the most driven snow goose hunters around. I think you would be better off with sillosocks with the hike in you are talking about.

Actually, I'm just plain crazy. I've used rags before for the last 2 years and didn't kill a bird. Started using some shells and a couple fullbodies late last year and was able to start pulling in a couple juvenile birds. By the time they get to me in the flyway they've seen just about every trick in the book. Need the top of the line if I'm gonna get birds down here in Se Tx. I'll push myself to the point of collapse to chase these birds if need be.

Portahunter, have you ever thought about using a huge grain bag (like a Soybean or Milo bag) to haul your decoys? We use them to store and haul our duck decoys and can get 150+ decoys in one bag. We have these bags by the hundreds but most farmers will give them away. I'll try and get a picture.
