that sound perfect for ducks! I used it and it works great! for the in between hunter that wants shot that is better then steel but it doesn't break your bank.

these loads are great! switched from winchester experts to Hevi-Steel and it made a world of a difference! i shot 3" 2s at ducks and geese and they did some serous damage on both. highly reccomend these loads!

These shells are absolutly awesome!!! I shot some 3" 2s last year at some honkers, and let me say.. THEY WERE STONE DEAD!!!!! Ask any of the guys that I hunt with! These shells smack geese, and ducks like nothin other!! I would look into gettin some 4s or 2s for every type of waterfowl!! I dont think that environmetal makes a #3 shot, but the 4s will not let you down!!

That's what I shoot! It's deadly on everything from BIG 10lb honkers to small ducks... But it's a bit over-kill on Teal...

I shot it and loved it... (Green shells), and got some more (Red shells) and and had to shoot a tighter choke... because the newer stuff opened up to fast in my browning.... call ed the company and bi...hed. and they said to shoot his stuff in full choke....
Anyone else find this????
what choke do you use????
Any one you a pattern master with the red shell??
thanks for any help...

I shoot a light mod in my Xtrema. I havent patterned it with the hevi steel, but it has a real good pattern at 20 yards!

I would suggest that you to get just a box and go pattern the shot and see how your gun shoots it! I patterned mine and do not like Hevi-Shot! I use Kent #2 3 1/2 1 1/4oz for ducks! I also shoot a Lt Mod for timber and a Imp Mod for open fields.

Absolutely the best shells I've used for the cost. Hevi-Shot was better but way to expensive. I love the hevi-steel 3" 2's for both ducks and decoying geese. DOA!

How far have you guys shot geese with 3" #2's? Inside of 30yds or have you shot them further. I'm considering switching to hevi-steel for geese and most of my shots are inside of 30 yds but like to know I can count on the shell out 45 with no problems.

Out to 30 no problem. Any farther and your gonna wish you had BB in. BB will kill 'em dead at 40-45yds. That is a long shot, and I don't care who you are.

im not gonna say i dont skybust, cuz we do twice a year in our spot outside a refuge. Just pass shooting. We have killed many geese out to 60 yards withsteel, and with hevi steel we have nocked down some big geese every bit of 70 yards. we shoot BB or T out there so 2's could handle 50 no problem id guess.
every kill at that range is pure luck though.

i agree however our shots are ridiculous but my grandpa doesnt care. i bet we average a goose per 15 shots. out there.

If you decoy birds try some #4, a center mass will demolish a bird. Also an excellent duck load. I shoot mine out of a PM extended.

Do you guys favor the 1 1/8 oz. 3" shell @ 1550 fps or the 1 3/8 oz. 3.5" @ 1500? There has been alot of talk inthis thread about the 3" shell, is that because you guys just have a 3" chamber or just like the extra velocity? Maybe that extra 50 fps make the difference that last 15-20 yds. what is your .02? Thanks

Since when have we ever let our money stop us from getting anything we want? It might have slowed us down a bit. If there is a will there is a way,Right?:D

Well one of the main reasons I shoot #3's is because they pattern better out of my browning bps. Next you may call me a wimp, but it is a little bit easier on my shoulder, I messed it up real bad playing baseball while I as in college. After a couple of days of shootin 3.5's it's pretty rough.

I just did some price comparing, hevi-steel to supremes. there is quite a difference and also between cabelas to macks with the same shells. Macks is cheaper by 3 dollars a box for the 3.5 hevis and 2 dollars for the 3" hevis. But with macks you have to buy a full case. But cabelas will sell it per box. I think I will try some this year for the geese but I got to burn up my shells form last year first. Maybe I will pattern my gun...........alot!;)

Guppie i dont see the point for at least the crew i run with to shoot the 3 1/2 in early and mid season because all most all the geese we pull up on are in the pocket. Maybe late season ill throw in a few 3 1/2 for my 2nd and 3rd shots. But even still 3 inch is cheaper which is always nice. Id rather save that couple bucks for gas money so i can scout a little bit more.
