Any mallards in Socal

I just moved to southern california from montana and was wandering what kind of ducks were in this area.Someone told me no mallards others told me alotof mallards. any ideas

Blackfoot welcome to Cali. Where about are you, I live in Riverside county near San Jacinto WA. Down in So. Cal we get a few mallards most of them coming on opening day. After that it's slim pickins. If you go up to Kern or the grasslands or the sac valley they get a lot of mallards. Down here are main birds are Teal, Pintail, Shovelers, Widgeon, Gads etc. It will be a lot different down here compared to Montana, tough to get permission on private land, most hunting is done on public land "Refuge's" or private clubs.
