Here is a question for you guys and gals - On the average, how many different duck spots will you hunt during the course of an entire season?

What constitutes a change in Duck Spot? I may have 4 or 5 places I'll set up in one marsh, and another I'll set up for divers and another for mallards, which may be around 7 or 8 spots, but all on one lake...

I would have a maximum of maybe 5 waterbodies, but the lake that I live on definetly gets the Lion's share of our attention because it is so convenient!

5 locations in Maine, but 3 or 4 different spots in each of those locations.

I'll probably hunt a couple different states as well (illinois and new jersey).

We hunt geese that come off of 5 different roosts in a 2 county area. So it depends on which field they are using. any givin year we might hunt in 15-20 fields.

Can you see the disadvantage us poor Eastern folk have when it comes to waterfowl? We're all jammed on top of one another here - fighting tooth and nail it seems at times for a place to put the dekes!

15-20 different spots. It all depends on where the birds are.

When we first started out we had only a handful of spots and hunted them over and over again throughtout the season. As we have learned how to manage the land we hunt and have a better understanding of keeping birds on our "spots" I honestly could say we hunt a new spot almost every trip out. It Depends on why the birds are there, if its open water, or for food we hunt them according how long we think the birds will be there. I could honestly say we hunt atleast 50 different spots throughout the season for both ducks and geese.

the spot where I hunt is a huge dairy farm and there are several ponds on it all of which I hunt and then when it rains alot which it always does I'm talkin flash floods that makes puddles that i hunt to other than that property I would say 9 spots some where in there depending on the flooding.

I wouls have to say I hunt 6 different lakes or sloughs, but in those areas I hunt in numerous locations. I would have to say around 15-20. But I love to try new places all the time. All of the places that I duck hunt are on public waters except one that I basically just jump shoot behind my dads house.

I'm with Aaron.

It depends on what you call a "spot". If it's the number of areas, 4. If its the number of different blinds/fields, its well over 50 not counting out of state or out of country.

it just depends on how many different spots the guys that i follow from the boat ramp go to while trying to lose me. If they are persistent they will pick up the dekes and move away from me several times before they call it a day.

You guys dont know me on this fuge so i might ought to watch the jokes until later.

Seriously, it depends- i dont like to hunt the same spot more than once a week (at the most) and would prefer once every 2 weeks so i look at it on those terms- i have about 6 spots to go on private land at any given time and how much i use those vs. go somewhere else depends on how much i feel like i am pressuring birds.

In texas you dont always have cold weather to bring in new birds so you cant pressure the ones that are there to much cause you might not get new ones for a while.:(
