Has anybody had good success with silhouette decoys when field hunting ducks?? I cant afford fullbodies and looking for a second resort to having decoys for the field. What are the best deals that you have come across or any othe suggestions would be great!!! Thanks!!

I have not used them. But I have used some duck shells with motion stakes and those worked great and they were not to much money

you could buy sheets of cora plast and cut the shapes of the bodies out of that and piant them up its very cheap if your willing to put in the work hope this helps

I use about 100 plywood silo's for wigeon on the salt marshes and flooded pastures and they work great. I'm also working on other ducks using cora plast, they should be lighter and last longer. They are cheap to make and you can use spray paint with home made stencils for the base colors and put the detail on with a brush. I did 60 pintails in 1 day and they look awesome.

Just remove the keels of your water dekes and you got yourself some field dekes. may sound stupid but i know for a fact it works

yeah but youll also have 88 less. the decoys can be black and you can kill ducks. if you get a mallard within 50 yards and your shooting BB you can knock it down no sweat.
if you want cheap fullbodies, go with sportplast, they arent very durable the ducks arent least but they are cheap.
if you have the money look into GHG but i believe you could do quite well with 100 duck silos and a few floaters sitin there with some cheap fb deakes.

Yes, we run very basic "gunner" patterns on our silos and have so for years. We deploy them using V-Boards (Y-Boards). Stack up well, nice attention getters, inexpensive, and can quickly build the size of a spread.
Ours are made of Luan and/or Plywood.

All I use for field hunting mallards is 1 doz mallard silos, a spinner and 1-3 doz goose decoys. the mallards spot the spinner and the goose decoys and when they get closer they will see the mallard dekes (if hunting in corn stubble where the mallards might start to blend into the vegitation). But late last year we got 2 dozen GHG mallard shells and cant wait to try them.

yea dude we make our own silo goose deoys 400 deoys for like 50 -75 bucks so duck silos would cost even less.
