Do whatever is comfortable. Take it to the shooting range shoot some clays before season if you would like some practice.

Lay down while the geese or ducks are coming in, when ready to take em', flip the lid open, sit up while mounting your gun and shoot. Good luck!

I sit up all the way. It really helps to practice before you hit the field.

I hunt out of the Power Hunter on a daily basis as well as the Ground Force. It is very easy to sit up and shoot out of the Power Hunter. It is a very good idea to take it out in the off season and shoot out of it. Practice flipping the lid, sitting up, and shouldering your gun. You will be fine.
Good Hunting!

Try doing some ab exercises for a few weeks prior to season. If your anything like me, "sitting up" takes some effort on account of the spare tire just below my rib cage.

Sit up and pick a bird.
Bingo!
I've noticed w/ my layouts that it actually helps me focus and not rush shots..... there are other things mentally to do other than stand and shoot or shoulder and shoot. It's a win win.
