Has anyone ever found a easy way to store the ring bases for the Avery dekes? I'm looking for a way to keep a couple dozen out of the way. I've tried hanging them, stacking them, sticking them on shelves but haven't been real happy with anything I've tried. I'd really like to be able to store them without taking up shelf space or room on the workbench.
I keep thinking there must be a slick way to store them, but sure don't have the answer (yet).
Anyone solve this problem and be willing to share the answer?

I know that it is a pain, but a couple of dozen does not take up a lot of room. I just keep my ring bases stacked in dozens and keep them between the 6 slot bags that I have the decoys in. I don't use the ring bases unless I go north. I use the stakes all the time and keep them in the slots with the decoys.

I don't have a nifty answer for storage, but I do have a tip from Rob Jepson about keeping the ring bases organized. Since I have stands for FB geese, FB mallards, and FB lessers - and they all vary in height - I spray painted each type of top a different color - sure helps during set up and pick up.

I use huge snap locks that I bought at Home Depot in the tool area.
They are about 6" long and I keep 6 ring bases on them on the decoy bag strap when hunting. Then hang on a nail in the garage after season above the decoy tables.
The snap locks are a very large clip that some use to hook keys to a belt, etc.

I either hang 6 at a time from J hooks in the basement or when they are in the trailer I have them suspended from the ceiling by nylon straps. Check out www.strapworks.com. They have about every strap known to man.

Although my new tops are made from glow in the dark material that I'd hate to cover up, I'm thinking a wrap of different color electricians tape just under the tip would do the job. Thanks.

I have mine in 5 gal buckets. You can get a doz or more in a bucket. The bucket allows you to just keep stacking them on one another and it also makes it easy to get them out. You just have to grab the highest one in the stack and they pull right out.
5 gal. buckets here. Simple and easy to carry.
To differentiate between the types of stakes, I spray paint the horizontal plastic piece a color. That leaves the vertical piece to still glow in the dark.
Seems to work.

5 gallon buckets here too, We can but about 3 dozen in a bucket. its not a perfect system but it works. I do like the strap idea though.

We also use the spray-painting technique to keep the different size bases organized. We sprayed the honker base and stake tops neon orange.
As for storage, we use huge rubbermaid containers to fit all of our bases, and smaller rubbermaid containers for the stakes. If you take one of your stakes to the store you can find a container that fits them almost perfectly. We found that this works really slick. We can fit our 10 dozen duck bases in one of the containers and then our 10 dozen goose bases (lesser and honker) in another container.

I have 6 slot bags on all the decoys and i have each motion ring base under each decoy.
How do you get the motion ring and the decoy in the same slot?

We have buckets right now, but we just got our 10 doz rings the other day, and we will be doing the hooks on the walls to hang em! I will post pics of the "New" style stakes we got...they are sweet!!!
