Hey guys,
Im getting a power hunter next weekend, and Ive had my heart set on the field khaki. good price and looks good. My question to you guys is will the khaki work just as good in any field as a shadow grass or duck blind? After using the camo straps it looks really good, but all the pictures ive seen are camo blinds. Post up some pics of your khaki blinds, covered up pretty good.

thanks for the help,
tyler

Hey, the reason that they are khaki is because no matter what you will probably mud up your blind and put killerweed on it. If you were to buy a camo blind, you are just spending money that you don't even need to spend.

Exactly!!. In fact BH89, get some flat paint from Wal-Mart and paint it. Thats what I did.

Yes and no. I would get the KW and let it bleach in the sun. It will be more life like when you hunt the fields.
Good luck.

would you still need to mud the power hunter if you have killer weed? me and bighonkers might split a pack since it says it can cover two power hunters. Which should we get? the all terrain or the golden harvest?

YES, mud any blind.

A blind kit of KW will do up two PH's well enough that when you get to the field and add the natural vegetation it will disappear. The KW is a great "base" for anywhere, but still pull some cover from the field to get it dead on. I'd go with the All-Terrain and use the colors you hunt in most. Like Mike D said, and he knows his stuff...after mud, you can touch up your blind if desired with a tad of paint..you can also paint the KW if needed. Flat paint only.

alright, so mud it up and add natural vegetation also. sounds good. any tips on making the killerweed stay on a blind for a whole season? Do you zip tie it on or anything?

Use a half hitch....what I do is take the KW out of the package, lay each color out (should be 3-4 feet long) and cut it in half or into thirds. I do this because when I put it on using a hitch it can stand up and out more, adding depth. The KW will last a lot longer than one season....I have some old Finisher blinds with the same KW from 3 years ago and going strong.

A half hitch is taking the section, lapping it in half to itself creating a loop, slide it under the strap, and pulling the lose end thru the loop snug. I think Rusty Hallock posted pictures of this a couple years ago....try a search on applying KW and you may be able to dig up some photos.

Ridge,

That blind looks good, but look at the terrain around the blind and you can see where KW is the deal to giving a blind the finishing touches. See all the vegetation mixed in with the corn stalks?....That is the base and depth I'm talking about that KW gives a blind. Add the field's natural cover, and you're cooking in grease.

More mud too buddy!

save your money buy FK. by the time you paint/mud and grass it dont really matter. i like the paint it can be changed fast with more paint, i use paint on KW also because we get greener as the season goes on

For me this past season, it was all about natural vegetation. Once you have a good base coat of mud, get up early, set up decoys, and then throw every piece of vegetation possible on your blind. It takes a lot of work, and in some places it isn't optimum, but this photo should show you how well it works even without any artificial vegetation...

I actually had a goose touch its feet on the lid before it realised it was a high point of land and decided to touch down about a foot behind the blind. It was a good field to hide in, but I always keep stubbling until the birds are in the air, I can't just sit and wait...
