On the weekend of August 5th Avery Pro Staffer , Shane Rossen won the Washington State Duck Calling Championship. The weather was beautiful and a small crowd was present for the event.
Shane competed against 2 past state champions and pulled off the win! Robert Strong and Shane were tied going into the second round with Able Cortinez trailing in third place.
In the third round Shane blew his best routine of the three rounds, and when the dust settled Shane came out victorious by 2 points. The final score was Shane Rossen 772 and Robert Strong 770.
Shane says he would like to see more involvement in the Washington State Calling Contest. He feels that it will help keep the sport alive. Shane also says that at these events there are youth and novice calling events.
So, he encourages Moms and Dads to bring your kids and get them involved, because the youth of today are the future of waterfowling.
Congrats out to Shane on his accomplishment!
