Lets expand upon the poll to include the various body positions. You can select more than one decoy.

I'm suggesting an active Wood Duck which is not an option on the poll... the feeder would be a good idea too! I've also expressed an intrest in a Pintail feeder.

I left off wood duck active because it was not one mentioned it in the other discussions about wood duck full bodies. It appeared most wanted a rester type for logs/banks.

Wigeons wigeons wigeons both feeder and resters poses I shoot more wigeons than any other duck and they come in the thousands upon thousands of them! they would sell very well!!!!!!

Pintail resters would be awesome out here. Every refuge or water hole is covered with pintails resting in the midday hours.

Curt right again. I know in your neck of the woods a rester Pintail would be the TICKET!!! The same goes around here.

FEEDER Full Body Wigeon and I will tell you exactly why. They ARE Grazers and as a result they are head down feeding. If they are head up they getting ready to fly. in a full body hunting situation "Active"(e.g. rester in this case) Wigeon would not look natural in any numbers unless you had 10 to 1 meaning 10 head down for every 1 head up..... Anyone else have examples? back up for why they want to see a decoy?

I'm with ya Wingman there is no way you need a wigeon doing anything but feeding At least not in these parts. I voted pintail rester, wigeon feeder. I would even like to suggest that the wigeon be a shell deke so you could haul enough of them, Wouldn't want to pack 100 full body wigeon on a salt marsh.

I can't emphasize enough the value of the pintail rester for visibility. Much better than a feeder, especially during the day. I love using the Eberharts (although crude), and would love replacing them with GHG even more. Sandbars, checks, or even rafted up in the middle of a field they look like the 'closed zone' on a refuge. I only wish I had as good a photo as Wingman's to illustrate. Feeders will be important as well, but resters will provide the visibility. Wigeon feeders would be great also. I voted the same as QW above.

Randy.. Glad to help :D Please post up the end result!!! I have ZERO artistic ability but love to see what others are able to do. The FB Gadwall and your FB Wigeon repaints always come to mind.

Cheers,

Adam

after a quick 1 hour paint job i'd have to say wigeon feeders. here is where i am at. need to let the whole thing dry to do some dry brushing on the back. then a coat of 1311 aan dbag into it's individual bag. pics are from start to finish. also gotta change out the orange bungy for a grey one. and dry brush the head some more.

Good call on using the HC decoy. I hate repainting a GHG with a perfectly good paint job already. Is that brown slightly redish? What color is it? I am heading to Walmart right now to try to pick some up.
