Is there any advantage in having a ported choke compared to non-ported? Whats the difference? Thanks...

Whether porting is an advantage or not is gonna' be up to you but (as I understand it) the basic function of porting is to lessen felt recoil and muzzle lift.

I have a Hadels "D" tube ported extended, as said the ports helps reduce felt recoil, but also help strip the wad from the shot colume by venting gas press off from behind it! As far as that goes, your regular factory chokes are pretty close to fancy after markets!

I have an extended ported patternmaster and as far as less recoil goes, I can't really tell a difference. I do know that it slows down the wad as it comes out giving you a tighter pattern.

Exactly.... you either hit or miss, not much in between. And when you hit 'em, you hit 'em HARD! :D

No actaully porting has nothing to do with slowing the wad down. The studs do that function in a PM or Wad Wizard choke.
As for muzzle lift, that is ONLY with directional porting, and PM has ports going in all directions. Directional ports point upwards to help "push" the barrel down. You will professional trap, skeet, sporting clays shooters use directional porting.
Ported barrels/chokes are louder then non ported ones. Your hunting frends will apprieciate the non oprted ones as it is easier on their ears.
It is my opinion that for 90% of the hunters, the PM or ANY after market choke is too tight of a pattern for them. Most hunters are poor shots past 35 yds, meaning the vast maority of the birds are not baggied over 35 yds, so why not use a choke for close in? These 90% should be using an Improved Cyl bore when using steel shot. They would be surprised at how many more birds they would kill as a result.
