We just learned that Avery Pro-Staffer Josh Leger was tragically killed yesterday while hunting in his home province of Quebec. Details are sketchy at this point, but apparently someone in an automobile fired a rifle at his decoys hitting Josh in the head.

Again, I don’t have any more details, but our prayers go out to all of Josh’s friends and family. As we get more details we’ll post them here.

This is the link to Josh’s bio. http://www.averyoutdoors.com/pro_staff_bios.html#LegerJosh

Since thursday that the time seemed to stop after that phone call from Rob asking me to confirm Josh's death. What a shock! I was in a meeting and just by the look in my face everybody stopped to speak and understood my whole world just fell appart.

It took the phone and called Hugues Leblond from Dx Team and in a minute I had to face the cuel reality.........Josh past away.

Things were going so fast in my head that I was no more able to normally fonction. Tears in the eyes and heart ready to explode.

So I confirmed the news to Rob and then called his oldest friend "Rookie". His whife answered. I barelly made myself clear and as soon as Josh's name left my mouth we both started to cry. No need to tell you how that women pain was true. It was like if I told her her own husband just died.

I tried to continue to work but that day that had started well by a great hunt was thing of the past. My heart was suddenly filled with pain, sadness, and many other feelings hard to handle.

Josh was the greatest waterfowler I personnally met, the most extreme and passionnated. I know Josh since I started to chat on different internet sites and forums. What started as a joke saying I'd be interested to exchange my girlfriend for his fourwheeler continued for years with dozens and doxens of MP filled with humour and constructive critics. My ears were wide opens knowing he could help me a lot to become a better waterfowler.

Josh if you hear me............ I'll remember theses hunts forever......hunts where I learned so much being your guide's helper or partner. These hunts were the birds were not collaborating well and were I've seen you doing magic tricks to lure them so well. I've learned more in couple hunts watching you than years trying my best. I'll remember this seminar that we gave together at the Plattsburg Gander Mountain where I realized how much how you were generous to me to share your knowledge with me while our wifes were shopping together.

Our boiling tempers met many times, each of us to blame, we both realize today how stupid it was and how we wasted our time picking at each other instead of sharing quality time together. I'd like to change the past so much to make sure we'd take time to make the peace before you left us, your friends. Please accept this last goodbye as a reconscilliation offer that sadly will never happen in this world.

For me you'll always stay the most complete waterfowler of Quebec province. In a small market like Quebec your name will stay as big as Zink, Wise, Calef, Stallh, Foiles and others that makes this sport the greatest on earth.

You placed the bar so high for others to follow and they'll follow you tracks step by step trying to copy such a great passion and professionnalism

Every of them that knows you well will say that you were never happy of a second place position............... these one will also remember you as their number 1.
