A nice cold front passed through much of the state over the weekend bringing a taste of "true" duck weather and fresh birds. I was able to get the fella below his first duck on Saturday and followed it up with a fantastic shoot of decoying Mallard, Pintail, and Teal on Sunday. Last year, I took the same guy on his first goose hunt and it has been really fun and gratifying watching him get hooked on waterfowl!!! Another highlight was having my new Lab "Velvet" perform like a rock-star on Sunday.....
Our season here closed Sunday and will re-open on Halloween day. Hopefully the weather continues to treat us well....
