I have recently been hunting on the Oak Hammock Marsh. I had a wonderful trip however, I must warn everyone about a few certain aspects of that area. First of all, make sure you recieve hunting permission from the landowner. While my group was up there, there were several other groups of hunts running around hunting without permission, also rutting up muddy fields. Word of the local landowner was that they were not allowing any hunting because of this so be courteous to the landowners and get permission. Secondly, while hunting in the marsh area you are only allowed to hunt four people be quarter, so group bring plenty of deks because you may have to split up. Thirdly, do not go there to hunt ducks because there is no water to hunt but, you can hunt for them in the fields and be successful. Four, watch the locals they like to party very late at night. Fifth, if you have any automoblile troubles make sure you contact you dealer at home and work out something with a mechanic in Canada. Our transmission went out and the trans shop we went to tried to rip us off. Lastly, the goose hunting was awesome but, there was a lot of hunting pressure so be prepared to work for your geese. Anyways six of us killed 145 canadas, a few snow, and also a few ducks. It was a great trip. Also don't forget you Zink Call and several flags, they are the key to success.

Ill never go back up there I had 2 great hunts but when people reserve fields a YEAR in advance thats a bit much for me.........Guides are killing that area. I saw it first hand, and NO I did not hunt with a guide.

I agree, I did not hunt we a guide either. We went to several landowners that had leased fields for the entire year. One day we found a field with about 8 thousand in it. We got permission from the landowner, who said nothing about a guide leasing that field. The next day we went to our field to see that a guide had already beaten us to the field. I was not real impressed with how the hunting operation was up there but, there are geese every where.

The night life at our hotel in Stonewall was AWESOME we got plenty lit up! and as luck would have it that was "The place to be" and we could just stagger back to our rooms! Good Fun!

I stayed at the little hotel in Petersfield. It had a bar in the hotel, which was great. We had some pretty good entertainment while we were there.

Stonewall? Man when I was there in the Summer nightlife was about the farthest thing I could imagine Stonewall having. It's too bad its so competitive there, it is a beautiful area.
