We couldve gotten 4 times the ducks this morning if we had movement in our decoys. What do you guys suggest? Ive heard the 12V battery hookup ones are a pain.

Quiver Magent. Less than $10 and will add movement to the water, thus adding movement to your dekes.

if you are on calm water definitely incorporate motion. a "jerk-a-spread" works well

We tried those battery quiver magnets and i think they suck. They work great but after about 10 minutes the batteries allways shook loose, and it your hunting a spot where you cant waid it gets to be a pain, even if you can waid out it is still a pain.

Live ducks, haha no if you want movement in your spread you will need to make a jerk string of some sort for sure.

Can't go wrong with a jerk cord set up. it's easy and and there's no batteries to run out of juice. Mojo mallards are also a great way of attracting those high flyers. If you do go this route make sure it's a rechargable one. motion can make all the difference.

Let me start by saying I have nothing against mojo type decoys we use one alot and have alot of success with them , but I do have a jerk spreader that like to use in flooded timber or when were on big water and everyone else is has a mojo type decoy . I have found that if you can be different in these type of situations you shoot more than the other guys . I did buy a Ultimate Hunter Swim n Decoy this year to try out and I figured it would keep the kiddos busy when brids weren't flying , Good luck to you either way

how would you make a jerk string set up? just tie a bunch of strings to each decoy or rig all the decoys to one thing which is connected to a string? i have heard alot about jerk strings but still dont understand exactly

just let ur dog swim through the dekes and just make sure when they come in they arent to close to the water it adds movement really good lol

it really only takes a couble of decoys rigged to a jerk cord to add the movment you need. a really easy way is to just connect a a few decoys together with some small surgical tubing , connect one end of the rig to an immobile object like a tree and then run some small darker colored line back to you blind(attached to the decoy closest to you). hope that that makes sense? good luck!
