hey guys, im buying two robo ducks off a member on here. One drake and one hen but hes not including the poles because of shipping reasons. I was wondering, what could i use for poles that would be light weight and fit the robo ducks but also cheap at the same time? I think i could find something at a hardware store.

Conduit. No more than $4 for a 10ft piece.

I use 1/2" or 3/4". Some of the robos will fit into the 3/4" otherwise I bolt the square piece of tubing that came with the robos onto the conduit. Hope this helps.

It varies. Measure the robo.

one more question about poles. How long of a peice should i get once i figure out how wide it has to be?

Depends on your hunting needs. I have one that is 6ft and one that is 16ft. I use the 6 footer most of the time.

im no prostaffer but i've watched thousands of ducks in fields. if you're hunting a field i would recommend putting the robos only a couple feet off the ground. if you watch ducks in the fields they tend to "hop" over each other as they move through feeding. also i think it gives a different look to your spread as opposed to everyone elses in our area. just a thought. hope it helps.

We made all of ours out of 3/4" square tubing. We made longer ones for the lakes we hunt & also some of the marshes we hunt are very soft bottom so we needed a longer pole. We even have a put a hook on one pole & use it for our jerk-string .

a plastic conduit type of piping would be good right? Well i just got them in today, thanks J Kryspin (the guy i bought them off).. you can tell they are used but they look good. Im charging the batteries right now to test them out to see if they work and im heading to work early to go to a store to look for some piping. Well here they are http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n191/mike_2355/100_1927.jpg

as has been stated above, Don't waste money buying the "Mojo pole." simply go to menards and buy a piece of 3/4" conduit and cut it to the appropriate length. you may even want to pinch the bottom of the pole shut which creates a point and helps you to push it into the ground. If you hunt over water, you're obviously going to want it to be longer than if you only use it in the field. good luck oh and I use metal conduit, seems to work better than flexible plastic

metal conduit (found in the electrical section of your local home improvement store)is what you are looking for...paint it flat black or flat green.

I use both PVC pipe and conduit for my mojo poles because over the last few years I have lost a few parts to the mojo pole.
The conduit I cut in 2 sections so each one is 5 ft long. I use them in the water and sometimes field hunting.
The pvc pipe I have in a number of lengths that I use for shallower water and to get the mojo's at different heights in the fields.
You can also get "connectors" for both types of pipe to stick different pieces together to create different lenghts. I tried that last year, put a robo on a 10' section of conduit, the ducks didn't like it because it was too high.

well i got this plastic tube stuff, my brother stole it from work, he has 4 peices, 2 are about 3 feet and the other 2 are about 2 feet. Well the robo fits perfectly in it and one pipe has a wider spot to conenct two pipes together. I connected the 3 foot and 2 foot and its a good height i think. Hes going to get some male and female connecters this way i can screw them together and we are going to cut the bottom on an angle to make it easier to pound into the mud/ dirt. So when i hunt small ponds, i can use the 5 foot peice and always get more pipes to connect to make it longer for deeper water. Then for fields i can use either 3 foot or a 2 foot pole. Im getting antsy to try them out this saturday. It should be a good hunt.

pending how high u want the robos get the 10 ' conduit like 3.80 at menards cut it in half and bingo ur set i have one that sits on the 10' it self and its 3/4 inch regular size mojo so id say that but always smart to measure it first.
