View Full Version : Decent Friday morning hunt

We had another alright hunt on Friday. Decided to hunt a private lake I have access to that fills up with thousands of ducks and geese every fall when they start migrating. As usual, it was a struggle to decoy the mallards in close at this spot. We could have shot a couple other singles but there were birds working behind them so we let them pass. Highlight of the day was a flock of 9 redheads coming in and only 2 leaving. We shot some nice mature birds though so I consider it a success!

Dustin, great looking hunt. I drove through Fergus on the way home from ND today. Lots of ducks and geese flying around I94. I was impressed. Maybe i'll get to hint that area someday.

Sweet hunt! Those redheads are awesome birds, hopefully i can get into some next weekend, but great job, looksl like a lot of fun

awsome birds we shot 2 redheads in belgrade and 3 canvasebacks got 2 can's in one shot it was nice

I drove through Fergus yesterday too. Saw some Cans and mallards around.

Yeah we're pretty much loaded to the gills with ducks and geese right now. Of course they all start coming right when I'm about to head to Nodak but thats okay they'll still be here when I get back.
