hey guys, i have to make a blind for a few guys to set at the pond ill be hunting. I have a bunch of 2x4's to use. Ill probably be doing this alone so i need a good plan to follow. How should i build it? It needs to fit about 5 guys and ill be using natural vegetation once i get the frame to the pond. Should i just make a box with a peice of wood going across the middle and zip tie bundles of weeds to it? What could i do about cover from the top etc? I need to make this in one weekend so it doesnt have to be the best, just good enough so the ducks dont see us too much

I've never made a permenate duck blind but I brushed some up for youth hunts!
We could make a box out of the 2X4s and then staple chicken wire around the blind, leave some pockets for brushing. Then weave brush and stuff in the pockets and chicken wire!
Good luck,
Kevin

Im thinking of making it out of conduit piping or something light like that so we can move it around. Its not going to have a base as we can just squat in the water. But im not sure, should i go through the trouble of making a roof like that or just leave the top open so we can see all around and just get down real low if we see ducks? the red lines would be the piping where we would zip tie the weeds onto

well, if you want to move it aorund build it on a trailer but if its going on the water i dont see how thats really possible

my partner and i made a blind out of 2 inch pvc pipe. we used the gray underground pipe so it would blend in better. the good thing is that you can take it apart at the end of the season and store it easily. they make several sizes and couplers so you can tweek it any way you want. hope this helps.

The Nebraska Wildlife has some blind drawings that have good detail to them. Here is a link to them. I hope this helps

. if i make one, it'll be like that, im debating whether i should make a roof like that, or just make the top have two hood things which slope in together and leave a foot or 2 opening on the top to shoot out of. Like something like a pit blind. Well im probably not making one anytime soon, but if i ever need to, at least i got some plans.

the blind I hunt in in california is similar but built out of wood and is perminate. there is no roof on my blind only a few boards going accross the top. the blind is a three man blind so there are two boards dividing it up. we have some vegitation on the boards that flows over a little bit. and I have never had any problems with the birds seeing me. I hope that makes sense to you. if not I will try to explain better
