When sighting your bow in, what's the best combo to use. I've heard use 100gr field points to sight in, and then use 100gr broadheads to hunt. I've also heard to use 125gr field points to sight in, then use 100 gr to hunt. What's the rule of thumb here?

i just use 100 gr field tips and use expandable broadheads that fly like field tips. I use the same weight, so i use 100gr feild and 100gr broadhead.

You will want to shoot the same grain field tips and broadheads otherwise your arrows will shoot different using the different weights and you would have to sight in every time you switched. Personally I use 100 gr. but you can use whatever you please, arrow size has alot to do with it also. When picking broadheads, I would recommend a good cut on contact head. Alot of guys swear by mechanicals but Ive tracked many a deer for guys that used mechanicals and never go them. In my opinion mechanicals do not leave any room for error and we all know that sometimes we dont make the most perfect shot. A good cut on contact head will bust through bone without a problem, especially on whitetails. I wish I had photos of an experiment we did years back. We got a cow shoulder blade from the butchers and shot it with a mechanical head and then a cut on contact. The cut on contact blew straight threw but the mechanical just penetrated and both blades where bent. So much energy is wasted when a mechanical opens up. Also, I would recommend shooting a couple different broadheads as some may fly different than others for you. Hope this helps.
