I am new to using Zink Calls. I hunt mostly migratory geese on water (ponds, impoundments, etc) and large grain fields in Md and De. I want a all wood call...I guess my question is.. which all wood Zink call would be best for me? Thanks for any help in advance. Steve.

gone- You are right in your thinking of getting wood since you hunt mostly over water. I would look very hard at a Zink LM-1 in cocobola. What a sweet sounding call, and it is not quite as sharp in tone as the acrylic.
Thanks for choosing Zink calls!
Mark

I agree with Mark, I would look into the cocabola LM-1 for sure, it is definitely a wonderful sounding call.

What about a Cocobola Power Maximus? Or what scenario would that call be for?

The coco pm-1 would also be a great choice. It is a loud call, but the wood should mellow it up some. The acrylic PM-1 is one of my favorite calls for all around hunting. It has a great crack and will really carry, but can be toned down with hand manipulation to get pretty soft and deep too.

There are a few calls you can pick from, Cocobola SR-1, Cocobola Money Maker and Cocobola LM-1. It is going to be personal preference on which one fits you but there are your choices.

gone goosin,

My personal choice would be a cocabola SR-1 or cocabola Money Maker. Either call will deliver plenty of volume for gunning over large grain fields plus be able to deliver raspy/mellow sounds for gunning over water. If you live close to Annapolis, Anglers Sporting Goods is a Zink Dealer that carries the complete line of Zink Calls. That way you can test drive several calls to see which one fits you and delivers the performance you desire.

Thanks to all of you guys for your help. Rusty, I live in Felton, Delaware but am from Worton/Chestertown area and grew up hunting there. I think a road trip to Anglers may be what I need to do. Thanks again and keep the info. coming. Steve.

gone goosin,

You can also stop into A&A in Church Hill. They are a Zink Dealer as well but I am not sure of their selection of wood Zink Calls.
