I posted on here 2 months ago that I was having problems with putting the heads on, they weren't going down all the way, so when I twist them they aren't all the way on. I was told by one of the pro-staffers that they would help me blah blah blah.......two months later after countless times of trying to put them on for hunting the two studs on each head are almost totally worn off which will make them useless......eventually. So my question is basically am I gonna get some heads out of this deal? And for the record I tried EVERYTHING, i'm not talking I took 5 minutes and had no luck and quit. I used soap and water, a hair dryer, vasoline, lube, everything I could think of........ The decoys are the most realistic ones I've ever seen, but if I can't get the heads on well..........lol I guess I have a lot of sleepers, but not for $90 for 4.

I have found on my ls goose floaters that some heads fit easier on some bodies then they do others. This has worked on a number of my decoys. The head was tough to get on, on one decoy, but the next decoy with the same head was easy.
I also leave the heads on the decoys so that makes it easy too but I can see were they could be a pain if you are taking them on and off during each hunt.
Have you tried trimming some of the connection to see if that helps.

My last floaters I ordered were tougher to get on then the first ones I purchased but they are well worth it when they fit on and you put them on the water.

I don't take them on and off for hunting, I put them on before the hunt and it's guaranteed before or after I'm done they've already fallen off or became loose.

I also tried the different bodies with different heads which didn't work.

There isn't anything left to trim on the studs lol, they're almost gone.

i feel your pain man. the very first time i put the heads on i noticed they wernt goin to fit, so i was smart and used some 80 grit SANDPAPER ( guess you didnt think of that ) and smoothed those knubs down alil so it would go down all the way to catch the groove when you turn the head. i have one that has no knubs left to and its from turning the head when it isnt down all the way. SANDPAPER

Why dont you try dry wall screws, I had to do that with a number of my decoys and the heads havent fallen off yet, just make sure you put one on both sides because if you only use one, when you go to grab the head it will strip the screw, remember regardless of what ever brand you get they are all going to fall off over time from wear and tear, hope this helps

Lol :) Okay, it sounded like I was giving avery crap but it was not intended, I have 10 dozen decoys and they're all greenhead gear, my blind is an avery, all the clothing I wear is Avery, my trailer has Avery stickers......trust me I'm not bashing Avery!

Leave those heads on!!! I use a wire brush mounted in a drill press to remove the flocking and adhesive for the head connection. After that the heads go on with minimal effort with liquid soap, but I never remove the heads from the full-bodies or floaters. If they are indeed that hard to put on it sounds like they needed to go right back to Avery in the first place. If the cleats were ruined you should consider permanently mounting the heads with construction adhesive (flexible subfloor polyurethane adhesive), or plastic friendly epoxy...both work very well. Hope this helps.
