Well after finally accepting the fact that I was not going to win a layout blind no matter how many raffles that I entered, I made the decision to go ahead and make the purchase----so I really went big time and got Ground Force w/FBmallards from MPW. My question is, since I got the Field Khaki with the AT killer weed is there still a need to mud this thing? Not sure how much I will actually get to use it this year, but I wanna do it right.
BTW, my 8 yr old son thought is was pretty cool, so he slept in it the first night. May be another one bought sooner than expected............

you probably dont NEED to mud it, but theres always the chance. I mudded my kahki power hunter and its loaded with at killerweed. The mudding of it, really dulled it down, if i were you, id do it. Your son would have fun helping also.

Yes, you will still have to mud up the Kahki blind to kill the shine of the new material. Some guy's have also been spray painting their blinds instead of mudding them, earth toned colors.

Terry,
First, Welcome to the Avery Message Boards. As far as mudding your layout goes, it is very important to mud your Ground Force. It is fairly easy to do, and it will get rid of the shine the material has right out of the box. You might not think it is a big deal, but on a sunny day it will shine pretty good and the birds will not like it!
Get your boy out there to play in the mudd with you and have fun! Thank you for choosing Avery and GHG!

I would definitely go ahead and mud the blind or paint it. I like to paint my blinds. All of my Field Khaki blinds have a light coat of the brown textured spray paint. If you paint, you will not need to mud again.

Like they have all stated... Mudding or painting is essential to cutting down the shine. Welcome to the boards, best of luck this season and congrats on the purchase.

Use Krylon camo paint. just dust it to get rid of shine, You can change the color also for different fields. i also use it on the KW to match fields it works great! If you mud you will have to do it again when the mud washes off. paint is so much easier and no mess

No more mudding for me. Haven't mudded a blind in years. I have since painted all my blinds. Fabric sheen is gone. Been doing this for a while now. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. I even painted a few bags of mine.

Thanks,
Ditto. Flat black spray paint. We are hunting plowed up corn fields right now and the blinds dissappear.
