I'm sure this has been asked and I could read a hundred or so threads/posts but, when you guys attach Killer Weed to a layout blind do you cut the long strands into shorter ones? Do you mix the colors into one small bundle to half hitch on the straps, or do you tie on each color separately?
thanks

What I did on mine was to mix the colors, seperate into small bundles and zip tie them to clothes pins. I then attached the clothes pins to the stubble straps. This makes it extremely easy to remove if you want to use only natural vegetation. You can also just attach it with a half hitch which alot of the guys do. I hope this helps.
I will throw out this disclaimer - I use ALOT of KW on my blinds, usually between 2 & 3 bundles. Anything is better than nothing, so use what ever your budget allows. I usually allow about 8 hours of times per blind.
I grass all my blinds by taking small handfulls (12 strands) of the dominant color, then mix the contrasting colors in, until I have a bundle about the size of my pointer finger.
I then fold it, and cut it in half, and sometimes even cut them in half again for the stubble straps around the bottom of the blind.
I use the half hitch, or "sinch" instead of cable ties. To cover the top portion of any blind (body areas), I stagger directions of the hitch knot under the stubble loops, that helps fill in nicely.
Here is a picture of my ultra low GFDB that I did last summer, and this is how heavy I grass all our blinds. Good luck

I like to cut my Killer Weed and then attach it by a half hitch method. I also like to mix the colors in each bundle.

just like BDO did but start from the top and you will find that it covers well with just using the top 2 straps. then the rest of the straps on the side you can put in natural veg if you can

It does look good. Do you have a picture of your layout blind?
Next question. Does anyone have an idea on how to attach a bungie cord or speing to the top of a power hunter to help pull it back when you push it open?

I have never used a bungee cord, but I have put some weight right behind the headrest. I used a couple of strap weights. Make sure the Velcro is attached or they will just fall straight through.
Thanks,

Dang that was some terrible spelling on my part. I assume the weights are on the outside of the flip top?
