Hello,
I was hoping for some suggestions to my problem.
I have been hunting an area that has alot of geese but i seem to have little success. The geese fly out out from the resting area and follow the first flock and they will all pile into one field.I have been set up close to the field they are using , have been several miles away but always set up within distance.Every time we hunt we have loads of geese fly over but dont even look.I have tried little spreads of 2-3 dozen and have put everything i own out which is about 10 doz fullbodies. The fields i have been hunting the last few years the farmer will not let me drive out on the fields so i am limited to 3 doz bigfoots and layout blinds. The fields are good corn fields that i have seen geese in all the fields at different times of the year. The only time i really do well is when the geese are using the field the day i arrive in the area and we get to hunt it the next morning.
I do not call much since i am useless with a short reed but do have a few motion decoys and a flag.
The area i hunt does have a few hunters but not many compared to the front range.
I have tried lots of different things but i am coming up empty.
I feel like i must be doing something wrong.
Any help would be great.

you would probably have 80 times more luck if you were better on a call if i were you i would get the bad grammar instructional CD and learn. in my opinion calling is the most important thing in that situation. for now you might wont to take some one with you that rocks a goose call.:D hope that helps:o

There is no doubt in my mind that calling is very important when running traffic. I have watched excellent callers pull birds off my spread even though I'm on the X. However, I usually am passing them on the way out of the field with my limit, while they continue to blow their brains out on their calls. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for beign on the X. THAT is the number ONE thing anywhere. Wait until the geese are in the field you can hunt, then hunt them. Other than than, go find another field that you can get on the X. That's what I'd do.
