We're taking out a buddies scull boat this weekend to avenge last weeks goose egg. any tips or strategies on how to approach the rafting birds? This ought to be interesting to say the least.

Keep the sun and wind to your back most importantly the wind. You don't want any wave slapping the hull. Be really patient and don't rush the scull the slower the better. Also keep that arm down and hide all the movement especially with geese. they can look right in the float. number one rule is watch the birds if they get to weary of you lay back a little till they get used to you as long as you are not pushing them they will settle on down and you will close the gape. Go after the smaller groups. less eyes staring you down the better.
good luck
