I mainly hunt for geese with two to three dozen decoys. We see lots of ducks fly over so i was wondering how many duck decoys should i mix in with the goose decoys? Should they be moved away from the goose decoys? How many should I use? Thanks for any input.

Field or water? In the field I use 1 dozen Fullbody Mallards and have great success. Typically, we put the mallards upwind of the geese. Buy what you can afford. If you want numbers but cant afford the fullbodies, go with the Mallard shells. They look great and are less expensive.

i just bought these today, the ghg fullbodies, they are sweet and look so good in the field. My buddy has 6 of the feeders so we have a small spread going. I'd seperate the ducks from the geese.

well, in md, ive never had a real good field hunt for ducks but we usually set some out for grins and giggles, id say start off with a dozen or so, and if you find you need more than just keep adding to it. im hoping to get some fullbodys to put on banks myself

Here in ND thats all i hunt is field. I have 6doz full body mallards and 8doz full body geese. I usually seperate the geese from the ducks. this is just because thats how they do it them selves. Ive nevers seen a field that has the geese mixed in with the ducks the ducks seem to always land about 10yds or better away from the geese. what i would do if i were u is to watch a field that both ducks and geese are landing in and see what they do and than the next day set ur spread up like that and sit in between the ducks and the geese so you are close to both spreads
Hope i helped good luck in the field

Yeah-watch the fields or water and see what the real birds are doing, and then copy them. They know what they like better than we do.
