Of all the buffies I have seen over the years I have never seen one like this. Most likely an early or late hatch depending on the year or possibly a nutrition issue, but none the less, something neat for the photo album...

I knew we would strike on a banded diver someday, but I never thought it would be one like this... Although I had to clean this bird up a little, Mike Bard is the keeper of this leg iron...

A banded diver... that IS awesome. A few years ago a guy up here dumped a banded Can. I though that was the coolest thing I had ever seen. The lucky bugger swears up and down he has a banded Goldeneye as well, though I haven't seen it.

I am hoping to get one of those on of these days. We have thousands of dippers(buffies) around here and there is bound to be a banded one in the mix.

There is no doubt that it is, but just something I have never seen out of all the ones I have taken or photographed...
