I get on here pretty regular and read about how all of you are doing but rarely add too much stoke to the fire. Well I decided it was time for me to make my addition.
Saturday 12/15 My buddy McCade and I took one of his work associates out for a little duck shoot. We had a blast. The warm water ponds are really heating up with the deep freezes we have been getting at night. We shot 16 duck and three of my decoys. :( I didn't have my camera on the hunt so didn't get a picture of the pile. We shot Gadwal, Golden Eye, Shoveler, and Teal. It was a blast. BJ, McCades co-worker, shot through the box of shells he brought and then shot a few more of mine for me. He ended with 4 ducks and McCade and I each got 6. Every duck was shot over the decoys and the longest shot was ~ 25 yards. My prize of the day is the nearly full plume drake spoony I shot. I love those smiling ducks! One of my ducks was shot with Remington HD through my Mod. Kicks High Flyer Choke at ~10 yards and it took his head clean off. I guess that is further evidence for me that Heavy, HD, or Bismuth really aren't necesary for ducks. I was super proud of my puppy, he retrieved fourteen of our sixteen ducks. He was one tired, but happy, puppy.
Here are a few pics.
