The lessers will be just fine you made a great decision. We hunt big resident honkers and I use primarily the FFD Lesser decoys. They pack well and are very deadly on the big geese.

Good luck with them and post up some pics of how ya do.

FFD lessers will be just as deadly on big geese as the honkers decoys. You will be just fine. In fact, I would not hesitate to run an all lesser spread. They are cost effective and takem up little space.

Both James and Ryan are dead-on but I'll throw in my vote as well: whether running a mixed spread or all Lessers, I am confident that you will kill birds.

80% of the decoys used on these hunts were FFD lessers. I don't see myself buying anything BUT lessers from now on.

Dustin.

Nice pit. Is that on a golf course???

You Gander Valley guys have all the good %@#T. ;)

Just shoot the back nine in the morning and then enjoy a warm cider with Muffy, Blake, Charles and Sophie. "Quite Civilized."

Your middle photo is what all us Montana DirtBallers have to hunt in.

I'd say you PROVE that the lessers work in all situations equally well.

Thanks.

Great photos!!

Haha nope not on a golf course. It's my buddies grandpas pasture that hasn't been used for livestock in a few years. We keep it mowed nice for the geese. The middle and last photos are actually the same spot. I wish they'd let us hunt our golf course. That'd be the spot of the century.

the lesser look fine they just look like smaller geese from this year or migrators that are smaller. i would mix some big ones in too for great realism

I always use lessers in my decoy spreads. Sometimes, they are the only decoys I use even though we do not have lessers in Maryland. I have had great success with GHG FFD Lessers. I attached a link below from a short article I wrote for the Zink Calls wesite on a Maryland hunt over my GHG FFD Lessers.

Just scroll down to the article titled Two Amazing Aerial Shows.

I use lessers on the Canadas all the time. My rig consists of 90% lessers and most days we just use the lessers. A picture is worth a 1000 words.....

HA I don't really have hotspots. We run traffic 90% of the season. Ryan, me you and Zierden need to hook up for a few hunts this next season.

From this point forward, Lessers will make up the majority of my spread. They take up less space, are easier to carry, take less wind to move, and they look http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v409/markbrendemuehl/DSC_0335.jpggreat.

lessers all the way, ffds or progrades it is well worth it, trust me, over the past 2 hunts, we have killed 32 geese and a duck over 'em.

i dont have many decoys. Only a dozen so far, and i went with the lessers. Im happy with them. We've used them in a spread of about 50 other decoys (mix of bigfeet, shells etc) and have got over 50 geese so far. Im not going to say its because the lessers, but they sure do look gorgeous.

If people in an area have big and little geese, they are smart to hunt over all lesser decoys. You will have greater success hunting lessers with lesser decoys, and will have the same exact success hunting honkers with lesser decoys that you will using honker decoys.
