Choke tubes...

Has anyone used the cabelas hevishot choke tubes? how did/do they perform? I know the consensus here is probably to save your money for a patternmaster, but i was just wondering if anyones tried them?

They are nothing more than a fancy Light mod choke, save some cash and get a carlson tube.

I was told by a Hevi-Shot rep. that their tubes are designed for Hevi-Shot loads only. Im not sure how they would work with smaller pellets (i.e. 4,2)
but he specifically stated that anything larger than BB would blow the tube out other than Hevi-Shot of course. It has to do with the softness of the pellet, very similar to lead. Dont quote me on this but I believe I read it somwhere that a Hevi-Shot choke combined with Dead Coyote delivers 100% pattern in a 40" circle at 70 yards! That would be pretty impressive! Call there service department and tallk to some reps., the ones Ive met have been ery friendly and honest about there products. IMO nothing beats a Kicks but I also use a PM.
