Hi guys, what are some great tips on hunting places were there is alot of hunting pressure. Like hunting downwind of another hunter, sometimes pull birds as they swing. I had a guy setup about 100yrds. upwind from me. I had been there setup since 2:00pm and he comes at 3:30pm. I let him know i was there and the guy even pushpoled through my deeks. Anyways there was a south wind and the tide was comming up. The birds were comming in from the gulf to their roost. I guess the guy thought if he could catch the birds ahead of me. Well, what happen is as the bird swung around into the wind, they saw my deeks and dropped in. I would appreciate and tips or tricks on hunting public lands with high hunting pressure:)

Alot of people hunt public land, so the birds have the chance to see alot of different things. Do something different. Most people throw out a huge decoy spread, so only throw out a few decoys.
Every time someone asks me where they should hunt, I tell them hunt in a place you normally wouldnt, because alot of people are lazy and will hunt at the first easy to get to spot and those spots get way over hunted.
Hunt those small potholes, those little waterways, those little timber holes, you will be suprised with the results.

Well I agree with Outforblood. Lately all the fields have had alot of pressure, and all the ducks have been seeing large decoy spreads. I have been watching old sloughs, and small ditches. They have somewhere around 5 to 10 ducks and that is amount of decoys I have been useing, and have limited out for the past week. Take one day and do alot of scouting, just ride and look in back areas where you would not think a duck would be.

Totally agree, with both of those comments.

Do your scouting. Make sure you know exactly where the birds want to be.
Make sure your 'hide' or blind is perfect.
Be the best caller you can be. This also referrs to knowing when to call and how much to call.
Use the best decoys you can possibly get your hands on (of course I'm talking Greenhead Gear.) ;)
This is all basic knowledge that every hunter should know, but if you can master all of them you will consistantly out hunt most people on the public.

Alex nailed it!!!!!!!!
This is everyday not just on pressured birds.
The pressure just makes these things 10X more important.
Do what you already do,.......better.

Like the other guys said, do something different. Go drastically bigger or smaller in your spread size. Add more motion. Add different decoy species that your neighbors don't, like Coot, Widgeon, Spoonies etc... ( as long as they are birds that should be there- just dont put out the typical 6-7 dozen mallard spread, but add in different stuff)
Know when to call and when not to. If birds are reacting to the way your neighbor is calling, then take note.
Lastly, make certain of your blind. IF they are that close in the set up, you both better be hidden!
