I'm taking my drake wood duck to the taxidermist here in a few days and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I thought about mounting it on a log so I could add a hen in from next season. Not sure about head in resting position or alert or what??? If you have pictures that would be great!! thanks guys, OZ

Here's how I had my wooduck done about five years ago.I made up a wood and plexi-glass cube to cover him up on the wall.

Here is a picture of my wood duck mount on a piece of drift wood. I am also sending a picture of a mallard mount that could also be used for a wood duck mount. Just a couple of suggestions.

i don't have a pic, but I saw one with a drake on top of a woodie box preening with the hen poking her head out of the hole. Looked amazing!

I have amy first wood duck getting mounted right now too.
The pose i'm going with is a semi resting head and body with one foot tucked up against body, with him standing on a log.

my dads is flying left to right and looks pretty good but my neighbor got a pair done where it looked like a a big ol knot in a tree and the hen was poking her head out and the drake was on top of it looking down at her and it looked very good
