Ryder and I sat back and hung out with a bunch of mallards in the dekes for the last half hour of the day...drinkin a cold beer, just watchin the ducks bomb in and listenin to the callin lesson compliments of a few hens in the spread...Full moon and clear skies made for a tough morning but managed to scratch out a limit of Wood Ducks killing the only 2 drakes on offer...the afternoon started slow..killed 4 greenheads..and then went out in style.

Had another great season..can't wait till September. Hope everyone had a safe and productive season...we're lucky to be waterfowl hunters.

That is an incredible photo... absolutely flawless plumage, and it is really brought out by the background! Sounds like a great way to finish things off... Congratulations!

Way to finish off the season. Much nicer than the tailgate shot of which I am not innocent of. I really think it gives the birds so much more credit when you make an effort to set up the shot rather than a bunch of messed up bloodied birds laying across the tailgate of a pickup.
Looks like a ton of fun

Really love the way you have the two woodies on the ends next to the malls. That is a great way to end the season:cool: .

Congrat's Pat...although, I can't take credit..you have some serious band mojo of your own...I heard you spotted that one on a greenhead before you shot em...gotta love it when that happens.

Our last day ended with my daughter in the marsh next to daddy. She saw us take seven birds in very warm, unfavorable conditions. I watched her all morning as she eyed the pile of birds. The next day, she told me she wanted to be my hunting partner for next season. Now, we just need to get the waders. This was the hunt of a lifetime.
