When we found these mallards using this pocket and sitting on this mud flat we knew we would have to take the advice of fellow message board members and paint up our blinds. After a quick trip to the hardware store, we had what we needed.
Preparation

We arrived at our spot in plenty of time to set our modest spread of 2 dozen fullbody honkers, 1 dozen FB mallards, 4 LS Goose Floaters and 2 dozen GHG LS Gadwalls. We got our blinds prepared, made sure the Avery PowerFlag was ready to rock, and got ready for the action.
Morning broke with a beautiful sunrise over the LS Floaters

Mallards were slowly but surely working in the spread and our tally slowly started to build.

After the sun came up these late season mallards sucked right in to the Avery PowerFlag...something I will be using more often.

We had taken a new hunter with us today, Ryan Woodard and he is absolutely addicted to it. As the action was winding down, we had a hen absolutely bomb the GHG FB Mallards, I told Ryan to shoot it and he dumped it right there.
As only his luck would have it that duck was banded! The kid has been hunting for a month and killed 2 banded mallards from Canada!
A happy hunter

Great way to wrap up the regular season! I am looking forward to taking a young hunter on his first juvenile hunt next week!
