Went up north with 'Gus' this past weekend. The ice was in and the "Frozen Fog" appeared on Saturday morning. Been a long time since I hunted in the ice. We had a great time as you can see.

Having the only open water around made for a quick hunt Saturday. We could have limited very quickly, instead opted to get em IN YO FACE. We pretty much took turns shooting and it was a great experience. Can't wait to see the pics 'Gus' took.

Sunday we could again have taken a limit very quickly but the deal was Greenheads only. In the morning we took 2 Greenies and 1 Drake Grey only. Hunted the afternoon on another tank as the ice was melting and took 3 Greenies and 1 Drake Grey. Total 5 Greenheads and 2 Drake Greys for the day. A limit wasn't the point and it was a great couple of hunts.

Hey, nice pics. I used to live in rockwall, not too awful far away. Do you hunt on a lease or is there some state land around there? I used to go up to the red river by Muenster-the only non-private land I knew of. I remember the ice-storms too, looks like you made the most of it. Congrats.

Was alot of fun thanks, no lease, no club. The respect 'Gus' has for landowners put me in this spot at that time. Great memory. :)

I'm glad you had a good time...

I'm sorry I couldn't get the ducks any closer to you. :D Those poor ducks back flapping at 5 yds, was quite sick.

Hopefully we can get back up there before the season ends and get into some more geese.

I'll get a few more pics up soon. I hear you like spoonies!!!

Nice pics. I love the hunts when you take the time to pick your birds, makes it more fun and you get to spend more time in the blind. Nice photo's of the spoonies!
