Anyone take off brand dekes or older ones and turn em into something totaly different?

All of my carrylites got new paint and look much much better. Some old mallards have now become ringnecks and I am currently taking some Flambau mallards (I got a dozen brand new for $5) and turning them into golden eyes.

Anyone have any pics?

My old diver rig, which I haven't used in years, consists of about 6 dz old Flambeau decoys that have all been repainted black and white. They haven't seen the water in mabey 4-5 years but they did work.

Here are some of the carrylites I started to work on. The dekes themselves are about 25-30 years old.

Some old mallards turned ringnecks which worked awesome this year.

Some redheads that I know longer have. 30 WI winters finnaly took there toll.

I have since changed the color on the cans heads even more.

these are pretty amateur but i have been going my basement looking for basically junker plastics that are old and repaintin them. right now i have about 16 bluebills done that look pretty good and they finished the only bluebill i shot all year(only had one give us a look too). these were done with a regular old paintbrush and some herters paints.

heres a few pics of the blackheads, these ones are 12 years old

i only have six of these flambeaus but i have 10 more of these, not sure what brand they are. they are about 20-25 years old

been redoing my canvasback rig as well but dont have any pics of 'em. i have 14 carrylite cans and six unpainted lifesize model 63 cans that i did as well. also, gonna be working on some pinnies and wigeon during the long off season and prolly some old herters buffies as well.

btw, i have always wondered if those flambeau master series mallards would double as some sweet cans and i just got my answer.

I too had taken some older floaters and painted them into black and whites for divers. I ended up dumping them for the GHG's as I do feel the GHG's 60/40 keel helps them ride better with less noise or water slap. Black and whites do work well in diver rigs.

I have made a bunch of bluebills out of old mallard decoys and they work awesome. Just as well as my GHG's. I have also taken old mallard silos and made some badass scoter decoys out of them. Havent gotten the chance to use them yet but hey maybe next season!

I got some old flambeaus that are black and whites and they work great. I think that is all a guys needs for divers. They fly so fast, by the time they relize they are flying into to dekes that are black and white it is too late!:D
Commander, if you ever consider selling your B+W's let me know.

I have also taken Hot Buy hens and painted into Black Ducks, and removed the bottoms of the OS mallard floaters and putting them on motion stakes for field use.

I have a dz old SUPER DUPER MAGNUM flambeau mallard dekes that are paint in white for snow goose hunting. It blends well in a 100 floaters spread.
