Another great day with the MWA, building Woody houses. The Prairrie Woods Environmental Learning Center hosts the project every year. Once again more little kids were there than adults! This is a great event for a great cause.

Rob- Mattie is far more handy with a drill then I will ever be. She struggled a little with the hammer but she is pretty good with the drill. :) It is so much fun to do every year. A great way to spend the day for certain.

Good work Mark! It is definitly a great way to get the kids involved while helping habitat. Our MWA chapter had our box building day last weekend, had a little over 200 kids participate and built right around 300 wood duck boxes. It is amazing to see how many kids look forward to building these boxes year after year and after talking to the parents, how interested the youngsters are to see there boxes being used throughout the spring. Definitly a good event that more clubs should look into doing!

A few more shots from the day. When I left they had probably done close to 40 in only a few hours. I imagine they did over 100 I am sure. It is a pretty big deal every year.
Mattie hanging out with one of the stuffed critters there. They had all sorts of taxidermy there including various owls, waterfowl, fox, and coon. Unlike most places with signs saying "Don't touch" this place actually encourages kids to explore. Very cool.
