View Full Version : DU banquet / Avery Canvasback

Anyone know where the Canvasback that Dick Rhode carved last year or the year before that was at the DU events can be purchased? I was lucky enough to get one on the silent auction this last year, however when I came home tonight it was in pieces, an apparent attack by a puppy.
That was by far my favorite decoy in the entire house, even more so than God only knows how old wooden decoys, Leather decoys etc.
If anyone knows where I can get one, without giving a pint of blood and my life savings, please let me know.

Contact your DU regional director if you know who it is. I would be willing to bet they have a few left in the warehouse. I will check with our RD here.

Everyone- Thank you for the help in trying to find me one. I talked to Rob today and he was able to find me one. I am SO happy. That was such an incredible looking bird. Dick did an awesome job, and I was just crushed when I saw it broken.

If I remember right there was a hen that went with the bull can. I won the bull but never bought the hen,, does anyone know where to find the hen?

I know that the hen was available for purchase by those that bought the drake. I will check into this when I get home on Saturday to see if I can find you the number to call.

I have two of the Bull Sprigs in my office by Dick and they are perfect. Hopefully one day we will have the chance to have a complete collection of his carvings.

Isn't there a hen for each as well? I know there was for the drake mallard.

There are four out so far. Each one has a hen that goes with it. I don't know how many people actually purchased the hen after buying the drake.

2007 - Mallard
2006 - Canvasback
2005 - Pintail - ?
2004 - Black Duck - ?

I may have the last two reversed, but I think I have it right.
