Looking into getting a NeoTub for my Ground Force for wet conditions in the fall and also spring snow goose hunting and wondering whats the good and the bad about them?

On other forums, some topics stated they get very heavy when wet and therefore are hard to carry out of the field. Majority of my hunting is walkin in so I am concerned about that.
Others state they leak over time but that can be a quick fix just like waders.

From my experiences:
-They help keep you dry
-Allow you to access areas you otherwise wouldn't be able to hunt
-I felt that they could have more stubble straps than what was on there
-Since they are neoprene, the foot bag floats up in standing water. If I was in a flooded field, I'd find a large rock and put it inside the foot bag to keep it below the water line
-They are quite heavy and folding the blind is difficult if not impossible
-I would imagine that they you could repair damages very easily

-Overall, they will allow you to hunt in wet areas that may bring you closer to the action.
HOPE THIS HELPS

I think the only downfall is the weight. They do add some bulk to the blind.

I agree with Rick on that. The only downfall to the NeoTub is that they are heavy when they get wet. You can take it off the blind after the hunt and it would be easier to carry.

Agree with what has been posted.
1. more stubble straps
2. Better carring strap would hep the weight issue.
3. Maybe armourize the lower 1/3 of the blind.

This would add extra cost though and I'm not sure how big of a seller they are but they are worth the money. I'll buy atleast 2 more before next year they work great in our chissled and flooded rice fields. Nocalhonker

I really like my neotub helps to hide in the flooded pastures which are next to impossible to hunt otherwise. The only thing I would change about it is the way it's connected to the blind I would have some buckles instead of the velcro tabs.

Thanks for the input about the NeoTub

After reading them, I got another question

How difficult is it to put the neotub on in the field?

Can a guy carry the neotub in a small decoy bag and then put it on in the field in a quick manner. I figure the blind would be easier to fold and the Neotub would be easier to carry by itself

the Neo tub isn't very difficult to put on you just slip it on over the blind and attach it to the stubble straps with the velcro tabs.

Personally, I don't think it is all that tough... Normally, I will carry the NeoTub in a Mud Bag, along with the blind to the edge of the water and put it on there. Then I will float the blind out the area that I am going to hunt. A ground blind/NeoTub combination, is absolutely deadly... They will never know what hit them!

I hope that helps... If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to give us a shout.

Thanks,
