Hello everyone,
I came back to my girlfriends apartment tonight and I had left my truck at her apartment while we went to visit my parents. When we came back we found my truck broken into. We left at about 8 p.m. Friday night, and returned around 1 a.m. Saturday Morning The theives stole my 870 remington express pump shotgun, which was in an Avery camo gun case, a Avery Camo blind bag with about 100 rounds in it along with my duck calls and other misc hunting gear, along with my panasonic head unit and my radar dector. My 870 is a pump shot gun and it had camo duct tape on it that was worn down an Avery finisher gun sling, and the magazine cap had a big bolt on the top of it. My 870 also had a patternmaster choke tube in it, and in my blind bag was a allen choke tube case with a remington turkey choke, an extended IC and Cylender choke, and the remington modified choke. My truck was parked in Towne Court Apartments in Newark, and I am begging that if anyone knows or has heard anything about this to let me know. They broke in through my back window and unlocked my doors. That shotgun was the first thing I ever bought myself so it means as much to me as my truck does. Thank you all for your help. Im sorry if this shouldnt be here but im trying to get as many people to see this as possible so that maybe someone had seen something and can tell me.

I hope you get your stuff back. I hate to hear when things like this happen. I would just as soon have someone spit in my face as to steal from me. Good luck...

Putting out feelers like this a great way to create awareness. You may want to report the gun to the police. I think that if somebody wants to pawn it off the shop has to do some kind of a check with the police on the serial number. Hope it turns out for you.
Thanks,

Sorry man, same thing happened to me in January. Lost my lanyard and all calls. I know how you feel. I pray every day they get caught and I might get stuff back. Now I leave nothing of value in my truck EVER!

Report it for sure!! Most punks dont travel to far to do there deeds. Put flyers up and offer reward one punk will rat out another punk for meth cash

Sure sorry to hear about your hunting gear getting stolen. There sure are some low lifes that have no respect for other peoples belongings.
A good idea for everyone is to get insurance that covers your hunting equipment along with to keep receipts and pictures of expensive or major purchases. Insurance costs alot less a year then replacing what might be thousands of dollars worth of gear.
Hope they catch the sob's

That sucks. I would bet on pawn shops for the gear. Call as many as you can in a WIDE, WIDE area. Contact police of course and ask them to keep you informed of anything that comes up.
The pawn shops on anything with a serial number will check, or should check to see who the rightful owner is.
I sincerely hope you get that stuff back.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. The police know about the gun and the guns serial number, so if it does turn up in a pawn shop they will know. Tomorrow I am going to call every pawn shop I can find a number for between baltimore and philly and ask them to keep a look out. I am thinking the person who broke in was after my radar detecter and my cd player and used my bag to carry the stuff and took my gun cause he thought he could sell it. I never realized how much stuff I took for granted that I had in my blind bag until I had to figure it all out with prices. Im going to be looking into very sensitive car alarms to make sure this doesnt happen again. I have also learned as was mentioned, to have major things like firearms insured.

Its amazing how much effort people will put into stealing stuff. If they applied themselves half as hard to a legit. job they would be able to make honest money and obtain a steady paycheck. I wonder if they even know what they did? I know in MN its a felony to steal a firearm. I know of a couple punks in my area that turned on each other for reward money. Now the one kid is getting like 15 years or somthing like that for assualt with a deadly weapon and possesion of a stolen firearm. Id start telling the dopers youve got a 50 for getting your stuff back. Who know could result in a double whammy.
Good luck though.

It sucks but the sad truth is most stuff that is stolen never makes it to the pawnshops. Rather they end up with a drug dealer somewhere and only get found when they get busted. Punks know guns are checked thru the pawnshops if they are stolen so they keep them or trade them off. flyers in the area of the break in with a reward will get you further than the police will. Punks talk!! their crimes. Alarms keep honest people honest same as locks. You need to take some responsibilty for the break in because you didnt remove your valuebles and set yourself up to be ripped off.

A friend of mine had his trailer stolen over a month ago. His trailer showed up today but of coarse all the decoys were gone. Keep your fingers crossed.
